Windswept Way by Irene Hannon (A Hope Harbor Novel #9)

This is my first opportunity to read a book from this author. It was a good stand alone book, although was, of course, the introduction to the series for me. I enjoyed the characters and felt the struggles that were a part of their lives, especially Jonathan Gray whose scarred face turns him inward. The story showed the inner pains that were felt.  The story takes place in Oregon and is a sweet contemporary romance taking place in an historic estate they want to turn into a beautiful event venue. This is a Christian book that will warm your heart.

A Brighter Dawn by Leslie Gould (Amish Memories Book 1

This was a very different Amish fiction book than what I first expected but was delightfully surprised.  It was a dual time period book, which I am not always fond of, because I often get a little confused which time period I am reading. But this one was very well written with a current time period and the time frame as WWII approaches. Having parents that lived in WWII Germany, this story held my interest as I recalled the stories my own mother shared with me.  And that is what happens in this book as Rosene shares Clare's story of helping family in Germany. The story is about the Anabaptist struggles through this time period and how they dealt with them.  The Current story also has a mystery to it in regards to the tragic death of Ivy's parents.  The book was very interesting and I enjoyed reading it very much!

When Tomorrow Came by Hannah Linder

This was the first book that I have read from this author.  She is a most talented writer leaving a story with all the feels. It's tragic, it's forgiving, it's understanding and kindness and it has Christian values.  There is so much to this story that will touch your heartstrings.  It was sad and it was hopeful.  Lots of emotions.  Lots of trials and overcoming. Lots of drama. It is a good read and will keep you reading till the end.

After The Shadows by Amanda Cabot (Secrets of Sweetwater Crossing Book 1)

This was a most interesting book to me.  It was a historical fiction book as you can tell from the cover.  Emily, a widow of a very abusive man, returns home to Sweetwater Crossing.  There she finds herself trying to resolve the mysterious and unexpected death of her pastor father.  Craig Ferguson and his young son, Noah come to Sweetwater Crossing as the new schoolmaster.  Both of them are kindly people who look out for others.  The challenges and events that occur to both them and others causes them to work together to resolve the issues that surround them.

I loved the Texas Hill Country setting as I have a special love for this state and read everything I can that includes this state.  It was a good book and a very talented author.

Once Upon a Buggy by Shelley Shepard Gray (The Amish of Apple Creek Book 2)

I really enjoyed this book.  I haven't read book 1, but I will now.  This book captured my attention from the start. It was a poignant story of a young man, Carl Hilty, who was badly injured in a fire.  The story of Carl, his family and friends will touch your heart.  There is a strong forgiveness theme in this story and how holding bad feelings can ruin many lives.

I really was happy that I read this book!  I received a complimentary copy of this book.  All thoughts are my own.

A New Beginning in a Small Town by Melinda Curtis (Love in Harmony Valley)

This was a sweet contemporary romance having to do with forgiving and putting away past. And moving on. I do know that I learned more about wineries than I had in the past.  The book has cute twin girls that you will definitely love! Slade is their father whose ex-wife leaves the girls with him to add to his already busy challenging life.  Christine is a binding factor in the story.  There is a a lot going on and it's a good book that you will surely enjoy reading!

Support and Defend By Vannetta Chapman An Allison Quinn Thriller

This book was exciting, sit at the edge of your seat good!  Definitely no fall asleep moments here!  I stayed up late with this one.  What is so scary to think about is the reality factor going on here.  It is a very believable storyline which is packed with action.  The writing is clearly educated, fascinating and well researched.  You won't want to miss this book!

One More Time For Joy by Amy Lillard (Paradise Valley book 3)

I have totally loved this series, so was very happy to read the third book of this series.  The Widow's Club is an enjoyable group of Amish ladies that share more than just friendship.

This latest story was about both a widow and widower and whose families have found ways to help one another and start to bond together in many ways as the possibility of merging families together.  But is Joy willing to give up the life she is trying to adjust to or is she agreeable to a life with a new family?  Joy is very independent and  has much to consider as life continues.  This is a sweet romance and as a woman in the same situation, myself, I really enjoyed the help to one another and the kindness to one another.  Good story!
