My Review

This is a fun biography, and a fun look into historical lives of an early Utah family. The author tells of Marcus Weaver's interesting mission experiences, the snakes, the bugs and all the fun and adventures he had.

The story is described in journal style and is very enjoyable to listen to.  The experiences of this couple are very interesting as their spiritual, humorous and life's story is related by the author.  The narrator Carolyn Kashner does an excellent job as the storyteller and narrator.

I really enjoyed listening to the engaging events in the life of this Latter-Day Saint couple as they forge their life and their future life together.

I think you will enjoy this family-friendly biography of a lovely family and it might even inspire the listener to write a biography of their family members' lives.

I received an Audible copy of this book.  All thoughts are my own.

The Moonlight School by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Fantastic book!  I loved it.  I didn't want it to end.  Lucy Wilson is asked by Cora Wilson to help her as Cora serves as Education Superintendent.  Lucy has no idea what she is in for as she starts working with the mountain people who are mostly illiterate.  There are a couple of storylines in this book.  Lucy's work with the mountain people and her memories of her missing sister, for which she blames herself.

It is wonderful to see the changes that happen in Lucy's life and the struggles she has and sees in the poverty of the people here.

This book was amazing.  I was totally taken in by it and could envision the people, the surroundings, and the events that happened.  This book was definitely one of my favorite books.  That good!

Lethal Intent by Cara Putman

Wow, this book has it all.  Legal suspense, some romance and a medical theme.  Caroline's new job as legal counsel for a research lab brings out realistic themes as you see the behind the scenes events that occur as a new treatment for leukemia is being developed and tested.  It's a fast paced book full of action.

You will find yourself quickly involved in the characters and all their emotions!  So much happening in this book that it will keep you reading.  You won't want to miss any of the action!  It's a book that makes you think and does not disappoint.  With all the Covid-19 going on, it is a very timely book!

All That We Carried: A Novel by Erin Bartels

This is the first book I have read from this author.  Wow!  It was a great book, full of adventure, family conflict and trying to overcome their difficulties.  It was really good.  I loved the characters because they were very believable and although they were sisters, they were very different and those differences caused conflicts that I think everyone experiences in one way or another.

This book clearly holds your attention.  This book was a real winner in my opinion.  The author's writing style is excellent and builds a well organized story that is so real, you feel you are there seeing all the action happening.  There are some childhood flashbacks which give some insights to the two young women and their past.

As the tale continues you hope for a good outcome.  But will that happen?  It was emotional and very engaging. I will be looking forward to reading more from this author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell Publishers.

Tidewater Bride by Laura Frantz

First, I love this beautiful cover.  I love this early time period of history in the 1600's.  The trials and different lives these people lead is fascinating to me.  Her descriptions of places and events that you feel you are a part of the lives of these people.  You feel their experiences.  The writing was excellent and it was a well written book.  The book has good Christian values. It is fascinating to hear of the settlers' struggles as they forge a life for themselves and their families.

If you enjoy historical, you will find this a very captivating book!

A Double Dose of Love by Kathleen Fuller

Following an ad to a new town with a short supply of women was a great start to this book.  I really enjoyed it from the first page on. But I do enjoy a good mail-order bride story.  And add that to an Amish story and you have a great story.

A book of two sets of twins and the issues of the past and another chance at happiness.  I loved the story line which was fresh and new.  It was so engaging that I found it very hard to put down.  I definitely recommend this inspiring and sweet story.  You won't want to miss this one. And it's book 1 of a new series called Amish Mail-Order Brides.

Faith's Mountain Home By Misty M. Beller

This book was quite different from the other titles that I have read from this author.  But I totally loved it just I have her other books. She is an amazing author.  Her characters were so interesting and the warmth you feel while reading about them is sweet and enjoyable.

I love the Christian themes along the way and I personally found myself writing down some meaningful quotes from this book.  You could see God's Hands in the actions of the characters as they interacted with one another.  It was a definite feel-good book and I love that.  What a beautiful story!

I was given a complimentary copy from NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.

What The Heart Wants by Virginia Wise

I really enjoyed this book, and I am really fond of historical Amish books.  The characters were fun and Christina was definitely outgoing and a little bit of a schemer.  Loved that.

I loved the frontier type adventure that these Pennsylvanian settlers experienced.  I loved their simple life styles, work and ways of survival.

It was an enjoyable book and I hope to read more from this author and this time period.  Really fun and entertaining.

I received this book from NetGalley and Zebra Publishing and was not required to give a positive review.

The Amish Christmas Candle by Kelly Long, Jennifer Beckstrand and Lisa Jones Baker

This book was published 3 years ago and I have just gotten around to reading it.  I love Amish fiction, but the first story of the 3 was too suggestive, definitely not in the Christian category.  And not the type of Amish I enjoy, which is clean, sweet and Christian.

The story written by Jennifer Beckstrand, was about her character Bitsy Kiem who is not your regular Amish character, with pierced ears, dyed hair and temporary tattoos, but she is funny and enjoyable.  This was the best story in the book and I really enjoyed it.

The final story was also enjoyable and clean and easy reading although didn't hold my attention.

Her Amish Wedding Quilt by Winnie Griggs

This was the first book I have read by this author.  So was happy to read it and it was a good book.  It was a great introduction to a new author which is always fun to see different styles of writing, different viewpoints, etc.  I will continue to watch for this author.  I really thought it was a well written, and entertaining book.

I loved Greta and Noah.  I loved the matchmaker role of Greta and the determination and strong character she portrayed. I thought Noah was a wonderful match and his mature character seemed to come through as he went along with the hunt for his perfect match.  Will he ever find the right one???

This was truly an enjoyable read.  Great story, great characters!  Just a great book all around.

I received an ebook copy from NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.
