Under Pressure Buried Alive and Other Ordinary Miracles by Paul Joseph Brennan

This was definitely not similar to any book that I have read before.  The story of Paul Brennan in his own words, shows a person can emerge from a hard life and one of some really serious adversity and make a better life despite trials and tribulations.

It was written in a completely different style then I would normally expect and was pretty fast paced and didn't have too much, if any, "down-time".  I was able to read it in about 2 hours time.

It is about a man who found Christianity and a religion that helped him  realize that God was there for him in all those hard spots in life and that all things are meant to make us stronger and more able to deal with what life throws at us if we maintain our faith even when things are tough.

Good book and great autobiography.

I received a free copy of this book and posted my honest review.  All thoughts are my own.

My Heart Belongs in Niagara Falls, New York Adele's Story by Amanda Barratt

This is a sweet story of two individuals, both trying to do all they can to preserve and help their individual family situations. Both having experienced hard times, they set out to improve as they think best.  There are some very breathtaking events.  But I will let you discover this!

This book is part of a 50 state series of books, this one taking place in New York.  Although part of a historical series, each book seems to be an individual book with it's own story.

The book is very enjoyable and I would recommend it highly. A beautiful scenario written around the amazing Falls and the events there keep you reading till the end.  It's a story of family, love and faith.

I was given an E-book copy from NetGalley for my review.  All thoughts are my own.

Surgeon's Choice by Richard L. Mabry, M.D.

This latest novella by Richard L. Mabry, M.D. is an absolute must-read.  There is no down-time in this book.  The action starts and keeps going to the very end.  I had a hard time putting this down to do anything other than read!

This retired Medical Doctor turned author has applied his medical knowledge and experience to a realistic and captivating mystery.  It kept me spellbound till the very end.

I highly recommend this well-written and exciting book.  I look forward to anything this author produces!

I was provided a pre-publication copy of this novel by the author, but the review is my own opinion.

Roswell's Secret by Vannetta Chapman

Just when you think there is no way an author can possibly write a better book, along comes Roswell's Secret.  Vannetta Chapman has done it again.  This book grips you from the start and never lets go.

Book 2 in the Defending America series is amazing.  You will want to put all things aside and get right into this book.

Who do you trust!  Whose the bad guy or your friend?  Making those determinations in this book is hard and you will just be compelled to keep reading till you find out.

The plot is something so possibly realistic and is totally plausible.  Suffice it to say, you will not want to pass up this book.

Vannetta Chapman is the author of over twenty bestselling novels, including Hidden, Protected, and The Remnant Series. Vannetta is a Carol award winner and a Christy award finalist. She has won over a dozen awards from Romance Writers of America chapter groups. She currently writes full time, teaches college students on the side, and resides in the Texas Hill country.

Elam has left the Amish after he loses the young woman he had planned to spend his life with.  Although he tries to go on with his life, he feels he needs to know how things worked out for Julianna, only to have a disappointing discovery.

This book is book 6 of the Amish Secrets series.  It is really a good read.  Has some interesting and sometimes surprising twists and turns.  There are secrets in the community but Elam is determined to find the truth.

This is a well written book.  Keeps you reading till you reach the end.  I enjoyed this book very much.

Coyote's Revenge, Book 1 of Defending America by Vannetta Chapman

This book takes your breath away!  No lie or exaggeration here!  It's filled with suspense of something that you pray won't happen, but certainly could happen.

There isn't a single dull moment and I found myself reading every chance that I could. The plot is so real. In this book you wonder who can be trusted and who is on the same side.

This book holds you captive till the last page.  This book revolves around Aiden, an undercover agent, whose life is one of danger and intrigue. Somehow, a young innocent woman finds herself entwined in a terrorist's web and life takes a sudden turn for the worse.

You will love this book of suspense, mystery, intrigue and some romance.

I will be reading book 2, no doubt!

My Heart Belongs in Castle Gate, Utah by Angie Dicken

I was really excited to read this book, being a Utahn and so was thrilled to have a chance to review it.

Being as it was a historical about Utah, of course, my first thought would be that it would be about Mormons as a theme, but was surprised that is was about the early Greek population.  I learned a few things I didn't know.  And yes there was a Greek Town in Salt Lake City, as I pass by it every day on the way to and from work.  What I didn't realize was that they were prejudiced against in that time period.  I have Greek friends and that never even crossed my mind.

This book was really interesting to this Utahn because it was fun to learn things about my state that I didn't know.  I enjoyed it a lot and the challenges that this group of people faced taught me some very sobering facts.

This is a new author to me and I am sure I will be looking for other books she has written. Very good job!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.
