Unforgotten: (Amish Romantic Suspense Story with Forgiveness and Second Chances) By Shelley Shepard Gray

Bethanne has found life hard after an attempted assault.  She lives with the memory and it fills her mind. Her cousin is running for Miss Crittenden County and has a stalker. Its an amazing Amish suspense that keeps you reading because you have to find out who the culprit is.  The characters are great and the storyline is very realistic.  It definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat.  And of course there is romance and so it has all the good stuff! Well recommended!

I received an ARC copy of this book.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The House by the Cemetery By Lisa Childs (The Grave Diggers Book 1)

This was a very intriguing book full of mystery. At the beginning of the book is a "family tree" to help you to know who is who.  It really is a very diversified story with family issues and lots of mystery.  The title itself seems very appropriate for the book.  So that definitely tells you something!  So who is the murderer in the case of Gregory Gold!  You will not be able to put this down.  And it is the first book of a series.  I want to know more, so yes, I will want to keep reading the series!

A Murder Redeemed Star of Justice Series by Bruce Hammack

Wow, this book was so well written.  I couldn't put it down.  This book was filled with lots of action, tension and mystery.   It was one of the most engaging mysteries I have read in a long time.  It was modern, up-to-date in crimes that are prevalent in our time.

CJ was an assistant police chief, her dream job, living the life she wanted and suddenly everything changes. She doesn't give up trying to find the culprits in the many car thefts that are happening in her jurisdiction.  There are lots of different side stories that add to the work at hand and it is captivating.  If you are a mystery lover, you won't be disappointed with this book.  It is that good!  I really recommend this!

Daybreak by Vannetta Chapman (Cyber Division Book3)

Book 3  was a wonderful addition to the first books of this series.  The author is an amazing writer of Dystopian books!  Loved the suspense!  And with all of our current events in the World these days, you can practically visualize it happening in life rather than a book!

The book takes right off and there are no dull moments. The research involved here, stuns me.  I was so impressed by the infinite knowledge needed to write such an enthralling tale. Great book and a lot to think about!

I received an ebook copy from the author.  All thoughts are my own.

Fading Into The Night by Vannetta Chapman

This suspenseful story  was first a part of an anthology called Summer of Suspense.  Although a quick read, it held my interest and is book 1 of the Cyber Division Series.  I really liked Ben, the Amish man, who discovers a woman agent ready to do him in!  I love his character and hope that he will be in book 2!

The book moves quickly and there are no dull moments.   I really enjoyed reading this!

Desert Intrigue Audible Version by Linda Weaver Clarke

I have listened to the other books of the series, so was happy to listen again.  I enjoy Audible books because I can take them with me anywhere.  Right on my phone.  So it's handy!

This book takes place in the Superstition Mountains.  Even just the title points to a great read!  I enjoyed the tale of the Lost Dutchman and all the mysterious adventures that take place in the lives of John and Julia. Evans.

In this read you will find, mystery, suspense, wedding plans gone awry, a trip to the hospital and a very  exciting backdrop in the Arizona desert.

The narrater was Carolyn Kashner, who has narrated several other books of this author.  She does a great job of helping the listener know who's who.

I received an Audible copy from the author.  All thoughts are my own.

Shattered Silence by Marta Perry

Every once in a while, I win a book.  I won this one.  I enjoy Marta's books and so was excited that I had received it.

I hadn't previously read the first and second books of this series, but I don't think it deterred my enjoyment of this book in any way.

It had a few slow spots, but mostly there was good action and kept the suspense going.  I loved that it was a contemporary book which took a little part of it to incorporate some Amish parts in it.  It keeps you guessing.  Enjoyed the romance and thought it was a pretty good read.  Glad I won a copy!

Convergence by Ginny L. Yttrup

So this book was anything but boring.  Suspense, yes!  The book captivated my attention and I had to find out who the culprit was and how it was "pulled off".

I have to admit, though, as I first started to read it, I was kind of confused  as it was written in first person by two people.  And the time frames of the way things occurred are not in date sequence.  I am not one who has paid much attention to chapter headings in the past, but I would suggest to the reader to pay attention to "names and dates" as presented in the chapter headings.  It will make the events easier to follow.

That said, the book absolutely enthralled me.  If the genre was intended to be a suspenseful book, it passed that requirement!  I was fascinated how the author combined suspense and faith in God together as Denilyn went through her stressful and difficult trials.  Great book!  You won't want to miss this one.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

Guarded Prognosis by Richard L. Mabry M.D. (Audible version) Narrated by Bill Nevitt

I really enjoy the opportunity I had to listen to the Audible version of this book.  Especially when it's a good book like this.  I love the fact that I can listen to a book and still get some work around the house done.  I like that because I feel as though I am enjoying my tasks more as I get to hear a great book.

The narrator was Bill Nevitt.  I enjoyed his voice and expressions as he portrayed various characters, changing his voice to be able to distinguish between the people in the story.

Dr. Mabry's latest book was so good! I had a difficult time putting it down!    There was a lot of mystery, suspense, adding up to an absolutely great book.  The subject matter was very contemporary, very believable and certainly something that might be a real occurrence in the life of a doctor.

There was also just a little touch of "romance" perhaps.  This book is a book that you won't want to miss, especially if you like to read mysteries, which I definitely do!

I liked the fact too, that there was some religious intonations which showed that we all can do many things on our own, but can do all things with God.  That we should trust and remember Him and that it's never too late to turn our lives around.

All in all, a great book and I am very happy that I had the chance to read it.

I received an Audible copy from the author. All thoughts are my own.

Emergency Case by Dr. Richard Mabry MD

Suspense at it's best.  This author knows how to write suspense, that's for sure!  The book doesn't waste any time getting you engaged.  It happens from page 1.  A great who-dun-it and wonderful mystery.  You will not want to put this down.

Surgeon's Choice by Richard L. Mabry, M.D.

This latest novella by Richard L. Mabry, M.D. is an absolute must-read.  There is no down-time in this book.  The action starts and keeps going to the very end.  I had a hard time putting this down to do anything other than read!

This retired Medical Doctor turned author has applied his medical knowledge and experience to a realistic and captivating mystery.  It kept me spellbound till the very end.

I highly recommend this well-written and exciting book.  I look forward to anything this author produces!

I was provided a pre-publication copy of this novel by the author, but the review is my own opinion.

Roswell's Secret by Vannetta Chapman

Just when you think there is no way an author can possibly write a better book, along comes Roswell's Secret.  Vannetta Chapman has done it again.  This book grips you from the start and never lets go.

Book 2 in the Defending America series is amazing.  You will want to put all things aside and get right into this book.

Who do you trust!  Whose the bad guy or your friend?  Making those determinations in this book is hard and you will just be compelled to keep reading till you find out.

The plot is something so possibly realistic and is totally plausible.  Suffice it to say, you will not want to pass up this book.

Vannetta Chapman is the author of over twenty bestselling novels, including Hidden, Protected, and The Remnant Series. Vannetta is a Carol award winner and a Christy award finalist. She has won over a dozen awards from Romance Writers of America chapter groups. She currently writes full time, teaches college students on the side, and resides in the Texas Hill country.

Coyote's Revenge, Book 1 of Defending America by Vannetta Chapman

This book takes your breath away!  No lie or exaggeration here!  It's filled with suspense of something that you pray won't happen, but certainly could happen.

There isn't a single dull moment and I found myself reading every chance that I could. The plot is so real. In this book you wonder who can be trusted and who is on the same side.

This book holds you captive till the last page.  This book revolves around Aiden, an undercover agent, whose life is one of danger and intrigue. Somehow, a young innocent woman finds herself entwined in a terrorist's web and life takes a sudden turn for the worse.

You will love this book of suspense, mystery, intrigue and some romance.

I will be reading book 2, no doubt!

The Illusionist's Apprentice by Kristy Cambron

Book Blurb:

Harry Houdini’s one-time apprentice holds fantastic secrets about the greatest illusionist in the world. But someone wants to claim them . . . or silence her before she can reveal them on her own.

Boston, 1926. Jenny “Wren” Lockhart is a bold eccentric—even for a female vaudevillian. As notorious for her inherited wealth and gentleman’s dress as she is for her unsavory upbringing in the back halls of a vaudeville theater, Wren lives in a world that challenges all manner of conventions.

In the months following Houdini’s death, Wren is drawn into a web of mystery surrounding a spiritualist by the name of Horace Stapleton, a man defamed by Houdini’s ardent debunking of fraudulent mystics in the years leading up to his death. But in a public illusion that goes terribly wrong, one man is dead and another stands charged with his murder. Though he’s known as one of her teacher’s greatest critics, Wren must decide to become the one thing she never wanted to be: Stapleton’s defender.

Forced to team up with the newly formed FBI, Wren races against time and an unknown enemy, all to prove the innocence of a hated man. In a world of illusion, of the vaudeville halls that showcase the flamboyant and the strange, Wren’s carefully constructed world threatens to collapse around her. Layered with mystery, illusion, and the artistry of the Jazz Age’s bygone vaudeville era, The Illusionist’s Apprentice is a journey through love and loss and the underpinnings of faith on each life’s stage.

My Thoughts:

This was a very well written book.  I really enjoyed reading it and loved the suspense.  A good mystery is certainly one of my favorite genres.  This author does a good job of bringing those moments out in this very interesting historical mystery.  I love how she wove the history into the story taking you back to the days of Vaudeville.  A very good read!  I highly recommend it!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher for my honest review.  All thoughts are my own.

Christmas in the Cove by Carol Ross

This was my first book by this author.  I really enjoyed it.  It was a contemporary romance but definitely a clean read.  Just my style.

The book starts out with lots of action and an accidental reunion of a long separated couple.  But will this reunion be possible because of their ending together?  Aubry felt great loss when Eli separated from her.  Why?  Now after twelve years things are not so easy to forget, yet Aubry and Eli find themselves working together in their dangerous jobs.

A very intriguing storyline with romance, suspense and lots of action.  A good book for those who enjoy a mystery.  And a great Christmas read! I hope to read more from this author.

Her Holiday Protector by Lenora Worth

The book grabs you from page one.  It starts with a murder and the detective Blain Kent is on the scene.  It is quickly determined that the killer is after Rikki Allen, a member of a crime family.

When Blain realizes that she is a member of this family, he must decide whether to trust her or not.  The plot is a captivating one and a fun read.  I enjoyed this book and the author's writing style.  This was a clean read with a nice romance.

Breaking Barriers by Gail Pallotta

I was really happy to be able to have an opportunity to read this book.  When Christian churches are under attack, and Christians band together to resolve the threats and violence, Ann finds herself being stalked by someone.  The book gave some wonderful descriptive detail of the trip in the Everglades.  The story, set in coastal Florida, was enthralling and I found myself reading through to the end without stopping.  I think you will enjoy this book which has mystery, romance, suspense and danger with a Christian theme.

I received an e-book copy of this book from the author for my honest review, which I have given.

Paralyzed by Alana Terry

This is the second book of Alana Terry's that I have read.  The first was Torn Asunder.  Both were absolutely wonderful books.

Paralyzed was filled with suspense from page one.  As the poor college student dealt with the fact that she had witnessed a crime and the perpetrator was definitely after her, she finds herself seeking help and shelter.  I was on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading this.  It held my attention throughout and could hardly put it down.  You will want to read this book!  Highly recommended!

Hidden by Vannetta Chapman

I have just finished reading this new suspense by Vannetta Chapman.  I was excited to read a new mystery suspense book and this book was all that I had hoped for.

In this book, Dana Jacobs, Vannetta's female lead character, is in charge of the Department of Homeland Security in Taos, New Mexico.  Her male lead character, Benjamin Marshall has been assigned to Dana's office.  He had just completed a 6 year deployment and is an explosive specialist.

In this book there is a chase scene that will keep you reading. There are no boring pages, rather lots of action.  You can see that the author has researched both the location and the events and procedures that occur in the book.

A few sparks of interest are apparent between the two main characters, although Dana has stated emphatically that she doesn't want to mix her work and her social life.  There is definitely something in Dana's past that keeps her from enjoying life to the fullest.  Something is hidden deep in her heart and mind that causes her to hold back in trusting and opening up to others.  Until she finds a way to open up her heart, she will not be able to find true happiness.

Ben has placed his faith and trust in God, but Dana feels that God abandoned her and she loses her faith and Ben hopes to help her find it again.

This was a great read and I am so happy to have been able to read this.  I love good Christian reads and this was clearly that.  A definite 5 star!

Vannetta Chapman's books are wonderful and you can find out more about her and her wonderful books at this link.

I received a copy of this book from the author for my honest review, which I have given.
