The Sergeant and the Girl Next Door by Laura Rupper

This is the first book that I have read from this author.  It is a sweet romance that takes place after WWII.  Davis Wilson has returned from the War and Faith, his long time friend. has lost her brother and her father. He wants to make sure they are cared for and isn't too happy about her choices of a dance partner.  He finds ways to make sure that Freddy, the dance partner, doesn't get too close.  This was a really sweet story and an enjoyable one to read.  The character development was well done and I would recommend the story to others.  This was a book that was gifted to a family member.

But Jill is planning a divorce.

A Small Town Gamble by Melinda Curtis (Love in Harmony Valley Book 14

I really like this series with the small town romances!  The characters in the book were interesting characters and it was enjoyable reading. Things in their pasts weren't always good and sometimes the past comes to the present.   As Ann and her daughter make a move to  Las Vegas Annie tries to get a job there. Her ex-husband's past puts a shadow on her as Sam discovers his past during a background check.  It's an engaging story that I am sure you will enjoy.

A Small Town Secret: (A Harmony Valley Book 11)

This was a very sweet book.  I loved the storyline as I read about Mandy in Harmony Valley.  She has a sister who has worked through a fight with Cancer.  She meets Ben, a firefighter who is at the Harmony Valley Fire Dept.  They both have things that in their lives that are causing difficulties in getting past.  There is a bit of mystery to keep you guessing as to who is committing arson in this otherwise no-fire in years town.  It is a book that was enjoyable and I think you will like it to!

A Small Town Summer by Melinda Curtis (Love in Harmony Valley)

I loved this book.  I liked the characters of Gage and Shelby and his love of animals, especially horses. The story line was well written and kept me very engaged throughout.  I enjoyed the townspeople and the small town feel of the book, and where friends can be friends or perhaps more?  It was a sweet story that keeps you smiling and reading till the end. Mae, an elderly woman was an enjoyable and caring person that made a lasting impression on me.  Very good book which I would definitely recommend

I received a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to post a positive review.  All thoughts are my own.

Windswept Way by Irene Hannon (A Hope Harbor Novel #9)

This is my first opportunity to read a book from this author. It was a good stand alone book, although was, of course, the introduction to the series for me. I enjoyed the characters and felt the struggles that were a part of their lives, especially Jonathan Gray whose scarred face turns him inward. The story showed the inner pains that were felt.  The story takes place in Oregon and is a sweet contemporary romance taking place in an historic estate they want to turn into a beautiful event venue. This is a Christian book that will warm your heart.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher.  All thoughts are my own.

Amish Christmas Miracles Collection - An Unexpected Christmas Gift By Jennifer Spredemann

I have read an early copy of Jennifer Spredemann's story 'An Unexpected Christmas Gift', one of the stories included in the Amish Christmas Miracles Collection' releasing November 10, 2020. This book is a compilation/anthology of 14 different stories by 14 authors.  Some are new to me and some are old faves! I am now anxious to read the rest of the stories!

This was such a sweet story of an older Amish woman who thought perhaps she was beyond the normal marriageable age.  Through a mysterious gift she finds that God's mercy and His hand have a most incredible way of guiding her in the direction her life should take.  Without giving away the story, I will say that this book was a sweet reminder of God's attention to our personal lives and that His hand is in all things.

I really enjoyed the message that was shared in this book and the story was fresh and new.   I really loved the story.

I received an ebook copy of this book from an author of this book.  All thoughts are my own.

Angel's Serenade by Linda Weaver Clarke

I loved this sweet historical romance by Linda Weaver Clarke.  All her books are clean, sweet and very fun and interesting to read.  I was happy to be able to read this one.  The story and the characters were caring and good people who were concerned with others and their well-being.

It had adventure too with the river pirates.  I have to be honest and had never heard of them before, so this was something new for me.  But after I thought about it, I see how this could definitely have been a problem for those traveling along the rivers and being vulnerable to attack.

I know you will enjoy this book.  It is a very good book and I wouldn't have wanted to miss even one of Linda Weaver Clarke's wonderful books.

I received an ebook copy of this book from the author.  All thoughts are my own.

Write By Your Side by D.J.Van Oss

This was a really fun read and I enjoyed it so much.  This sweet romance was about two writers, who, because of a contract signed without careful reading of the small print, find themselves somewhat in a bad predicament.  Having been together some time previously in a relationship that didn't work out,  the last thing on their minds was to have to spend time together writing a book that was require by the contract.

It was really an entertaining book and it was fun to see their interactions as they found themselves spending time together that they had never intended to.

I highly recommend this very sweet romance and am happy that I was able to read it.  I hadn't read this author's work previously but plan to continue doing so.

I was given an ebook copy from the author for my honest review, which I have given.

The Ebb Tide by Beverly Lewis

You can't go too wrong reading a Beverly Lewis book, can you? This was true to form.  It was an amazing read and I loved it.  I was quite sorry to see it end.

This book brought out the feelings that everyone needs to find their path in life, follow the road that God has led them to.  Not all of us our the same even within religious circles.

Sallie is somewhat restless and not the "typical" Amish woman. She wants more, although she tries her hardest to conform, it's a trial for her and as life opens up opportunities for her, she longs to explore where they may lead her.

It was a great book!  I am so glad I was able to read this!

I received an ebook copy from NetGalley for my honest review.  All thoughts are my own.

The Pattern Artist by Nancy Moser

I found this book to have a fresh new idea that was very nicely worked into the history that was occuring at this time.  Being an immigrant myself, I can see how Annie felt about wanting to achieve more than what she appears to have been born into.  Coming to America as a maid for wealthy people, she found herself feeling as this was her lot in life.  She was unable to go or do anything without permission.  She and her two friends plan to run away from the life of servitude and look for better things.

Although that was the hope, it didn't always happen as she had hoped.  Yet despite sadness and hardships, Annie has the faith to keep moving forward.  And as new doors open up for her, she finds an exciting new life.  Annie is a good person, although at times, led in a path that wasn't perfect.  She's human and does human things. But in so doing, has learned to trust God and listen to his direction as she moves forward.

I really enjoyed this book.  It was so different and I actually learned something about a topic I knew very little about.  Very entertaining book!  Look forward to reading more from this author.

I received a copy of this book from the Barbour Publishing Company for my reivew.

The Lighthouse Secret by Linda Weaver Clarke

Synopsis: The Lighthouse Secret: Rick Bonito’s uncle supposedly drowned five years ago and his body was never found, but something did not seem right about the report. Uncle Antonio was an excellent swimmer. His disappearance seems quite suspicious to Rick’s father. He never felt the complete truth had come out about his brother. It is now up to Amelia and Rick to find out the truth about his uncle.

I loved Linda's book!  It's a great cozy mystery and for me it was awesome because she always writes about places that I know.  This time her book took me to my old home in California, Palm Springs and as she described it, I could totally visualize it!  Then they were headed to Ventura Harbor.  I used to live in Ojai which is very close by and trips to the beach in Ventura were a remembrance of years past for me!

But aside from this, the book held my attention to the very end.  My only disappointment was that this is book 7 and will be the last of this series.  I loved this clean romance and the resolution to the mystery.  I look forward to reading other books from this great author.

The Shamrock Case by Linda Weaver Clarke (Audible version)

I am so happy I was able to listen to  this cozy mystery.  It was right up my alley.  Why?  Because I am a genealogist by profession.  And in this book, the main character, Amelia Moore, a detective, is looking for the family of a young woman, Kate, who was adopted after the death of both of her parents.  She knows they were from Ireland and wants to find her family if possible.  Being a genealogist, I do this everyday as part of my work, also.  I have also worked on a few adoption cases and heir searches. I have also traveled abroad to do research, so I guess that makes me a bit of a detective, also!

About the book:  Amelia and her employee, Rick, head to Ireland after hired by Kate to find her family.  Amelia and Rick meet some trouble when the run into Art, the jilted ex-fiancé of Kate's mother.  He is a trouble maker and causes problems throughout the story.  As Amelia and Rick search for the grandparents of Kate, they also have some down-time to tour the places on Kate's bucket list.

This is a cute story and there are unexpected results to the search for Kate's family.  You will have to read this sweet story.  It's a fun and enjoyable read.  But in this case I was able to listen to the Audible version.  I enjoyed the narrator Diane Lehman who was very expressive in her interpretations of the various characters.  She did a great job and it was easy to tell who was speaking just by her different voices.  You can order the Audible version at this link.

You can find Linda at her blog at the following link.  And you can purchase her ebook and paperback version here.  I am sure you will enjoy this nice book!

I received an Audible version of this book from the author for my honest review which I have given.

3 Days With a Cowboy by Lacy Williams

This was a sweet romance, the kind I really enjoy.  And I totally did enjoy it.  This story about two people, Stevie and Jake who meet again after many years.  Friends in high school, Stevie takes off in music and becomes famous, while Jake has a much different position and is a single professor who is essentially the acting father of his niece.

Their meeting is of course, followed by gossip by the locals as they are seen together.  Will some of the feelings of their younger years rekindle or will their different lives take it's toll?

I really enjoyed this sweet story and it left me wanting to read more of this author's works.

I received a free ebook from this author for my honest review, which I have given.

The Author, Lacy Williams

Heart of Gold by Lacy Williams

This book was a sweet western historical romance.  I enjoyed it very much.  I wish it had been a bit longer, but regardless it was a fun and interesting romance and a clean one at that.

The author was a new author for me and I enjoyed getting to know Opal and her father's hired man. It has a few surprises that you will find make for interesting reading.  Especially as some bad characters come into the scene and add some good adventure to the story line.

I am starting to really enjoy the western genre thanks to great authors, such as Lacy Williams.
