Breaking New Ground by Amy Clipston (An Amish Legacy Novel)

I enjoyed this book about Korey Bontrager who returns home after 14 months away.  He has past hurts to resolve within his family and others.  As he finds his friends have married and he is still single and others are pestering him about not actively dating, he and Savannah make a "fake Boyfriend/Girlfriend relationship.  It's an interesting story.  I liked it, but sometimes it seemed to be a little bit of a  slow storyline.  But all in all I enjoyed this light read.

The Ragpicker by Pegg Thomas

This sweet story of Verity is about an orphaned child during the late 1600's.  The story revolves around Verity, whose last family member has passed away and she is taken in by a widow who has taken in orphans and then had them go begging.  Verity is befriended by Joseph, also in the same situation with the widow.  It is the time of the Puritans and the Quakers and the tension between these two groups.  Verity experiences some very difficult times and becomes a friend of the Quakers who offer and hope to take her in as a part of their family.  But they have to deal with the village elders.  Verity was always told to stay away from Quakers, but they are kind to her yet she is afraid to trust and is fearful of them.

It's a heart wrenching story that draws you right in.  It is very touching and a very good start to the Salem Village Series.

I received a complimentary copy of this very good book.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Ruth's Amish Words of Faith by Tracy Fredrychowski

This was a really touching story that touches deeply on the heartstrings.  It is a story of two very different women, Ruth and Wilma.  Ruth is an Amish woman who has been diagnosed with breast cancer as has Wilma, a woman who is not Amish.  The two of them meet and share a very deep bond together.  Ruth shared her faith with Wilma and became a true support to her as they both navigated a very different life plan as they both would have hoped for.  The one quote that stood out to me in the book was "There's a joy in seeing the world in a new way, even if it's not what I'm used to."  And that seems to fit into many life situations. This was a book definitely worth reading and I recommend it highly.

Lizzie's Little Mouse by Anne Blackburne

This was a really fun cozy mystery.  I loved the characters and Little Mouse, especially!  As someone makes efforts to foil Lizzie's plans for a successful New Orleans style French bakery, Lizzie and her friends face several obstacles to keep things going.  Her friends are there to help and a little romance adds to the story, of course.  Who is trying to cause her to give up on her plans? And I love the historical aspect that totally engages me! It is a refreshing new book of  an Amish Entrepreneur who faces unexpected trials and twists!  I loved it!

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

An Amish Widow's New Love by Vannetta Chapman

This was a story of a young widow's financial plight after her husband's passing.  He has left her with more debt than she can handle and she moves to a new Amish community.  She has nothing to her name except those debts and the house she purchased after the sale of her past home.  Will the new community accept her and how will she and her sons forge a new path?  This was a really good book and I enjoyed it very much.  She finds help through Amos Yoder, the owner of the Amish Market.  And then she finds a wonderful community and more!

I really enjoyed this Amish romance and I recommend this book.  You won't want to miss it!
