A Mississippi Sunset: Women of Courage by Linda Weaver Clarke (Audible Version)

I really enjoyed this sweet and clean historical fiction and romance. It's part of a series of brave women who were not afraid to take a stand in what they believe needed to be changed and you will see some historical figures that appear in this book!  Loved that.  I enjoyed that the Willow Valley people return such as the owner of the hot chocolate shop and others familiar from an earlier book.  The characters are good people trying to make the best of the situations that they are in. However, it is not necessary to have read the previous books in order to be aware of what is happening in this, the third book.  It's a great stand alone story. The narrator was Elizabeth Schmidt, who I believe is a new narrator for the author's Audible books.  I enjoyed her expression and her story-telling abilities.  She was easy to listen to.

This is a very enjoyable book and it was fun to listen to.  I received a complimentary Audible copy of this book form the author and was not required to post a review.  All thoughts are my own.

A Lady of Refinement by Linda Weaver Clarke (Audible Version)

Another sweet and clean and definitely enjoyable book by Linda Weaver Clarke.  I love the cover and have to admit, the look of a cover really influences my first thoughts of a book. The narrator was a talented speaker as she told the sweet story.

I love how the author weaves her ancestors' stories into her fiction.  What a wonderful way to preserve your ancestors' stories while writing an engaging and interesting story.  I loved the way the character of Jonathon grew throughout the story and how he learned to impress the woman he was hoping to court. I loved how Serenity was not as "refined" as her Welsh auntie had hoped for her to be.

It's a great story and I am so happy to have read it.  I enjoyed it so much!

I received an Audible copy from the author without being required to give a positive review..  All thoughts are my own.

The Light at the End of the Tunnel by Linda Weaver Clarke Audible Version

I enjoyed this sweet Audible version historical romance very much.  This story shows the western spirit of adventure in a young widow who has faced many hardships to come to this point.  This is a Christian book and a very engaging and enjoyable read.  The narrator was able to present interesting versions of the characters' voices making the book very enjoyable to listen to.  It's very well  done.

As a newcomer to town, she finds many men who wish to become her suitor but she is independent and hopes to find her own way.  Her special needs child is her first concern and she does all she can to provide and care for her.

You will enjoy this heartwarming story of a strong woman forging a new life.

I received a complimentary copy of this Audible book from the author and was under no obligation to post a positive review.  All thoughts are my own.

The Fruitcake Challenge by Carrie Fancett Pagels (Audible Version) The Christy Lumberjack Series, Book 1

I recently finished listening to this novella written by Carrie Fancett Pagels. This is the first book in the Christy Lumberjack Series. I really enjoyed the voice of the narrator, Virginia Gray whose voice was expressive and easy to listen to.  She was very expressive and it was clear when someone was speaking, who it was.  She did an excellent job.

I loved the story.  Carrie's writing style really appealed to me and as I got to know her characters, they became very interesting people to me.  This cozy romance is a pleasure to listen to.

Jo is a cook at the lumber camp but would like to move on into a bakery in a different setting.  She meets the new lumberjack to their camp, Tom.  He is a very interesting young man trying to earn his living as a lumberjack, although he is actually a teacher.  As he is trying to help his mother financially, he takes this job, as the money he earned teaching does not stretch far enough.

He makes a challenge that he will marry whoever can make a fruitcake that is as good as his mother's.  That's when the fun begins and fruitcake of every imaginable recipe is baked and served to the workers at the camp.  So does he find a bride and does anyone make a good enough fruitcake to please his palette?  This you will discover as you read this delightful book!

Intriguing Escapades by Linda Weaver Clarke (Audible Version)

Just finished Intriguing Escapades in the Audible version.  Loved it and always enjoy a great Audible book to listen to while driving  or working around the house.  The narrator, Carolyn Cashner is a great addition to the Audible version.  She is very easy to listen to and makes the listening very enjoyable.

Linda Weaver Clarke added this new book in her series "The Adventures of John and Julia Evans".  It's book 5 and a great addition to the continuing family saga.  It contains 4 short stories and if you have read or listened to  the previous books, you will see familiar and new characters to bring interest and excitement to her stories.  The stories are set in my fave places, Utah and a little in Texas.  She brings them up to our current time, during the Pandemic.  The stories are mysterious and interesting and you will surely enjoy the mystery and perhaps some romance to keep things very interesting!

These are clean and enjoyable stories and definitely entertaining!

The Miracle Tree by Davalyn Spencer Audible Version

I just finished listening to this Audible version by Davalynn Spencer.  It was really enjoyable and I enjoyed the romance, the storyline, and the characters so much. It was a western in today's time period, so not a "historical" western and was a book with plenty of action and enjoyable animals as well.

The narrator Michelle Dyan Whitehead did a nice job of telling the story and interpreting the characters.  I loved the voices she used and it was pleasant to listen to.

I received an Audible version from the author.  All thoughts are my own.

The Dogwood Plantation by Carrie Fancett Pagels Audible Version

I enjoyed listening to the Audible version of this book.  A very talented narrator, Aletha Duncan did a wonderful job telling this excellent tale.  She included a cute southern accent which was very fun to hear.  The very nice voice made for a very entertaining listening time as she effortlessly changed voices among the various characters she portrayed.

The author has quite a way with words and the descriptions of the scenes you are reading about.  Makes you feel as though you were there experiencing everything personally.  This story of this southern plantation was an excellent read.  Cornelia was a fun and lively character who deals with many trials and sadness as the story develops.

The story has suspense and lots of trials and has many twists and turns. It is an excellently written historical fiction. There are sensitive parts to this book but carefully developed.  There are Christian themes in this book.  I enjoyed it very much.

Tales of Willow Valley by Linda Weaver Clarke Audible Version

I enjoyed the listening time spent on this very sweet book.  The narrator, Carolyn Kashner, did a very nice job, both with expression and the different characters that were portrayed.

This full length book entails five historical short love stories. The author is well-known for her sweet romances and these are stories of some of her ancestors and written into a sweet romance, with some excellent details of the time period, the struggles that the people of those days went through as well as everyday life. All with enjoyable storylines...

I am a genealogist, so the fact that she writes tales of her ancestors is a real plus for me as I try to think back and reflect on earlier years and how things change and yet how things also stay the same.

The stories are refreshing tales of good people working through life as do we today, as well. The title of one of the stories which gives me hope for the struggles we are going through now,  "The Light at the End of the Tunnel".  God is always watching out for us and there are good things yet to come.

I found these happy stories just what I needed in these trying days.  I recommend it!

Magnolia Storms By Janet W. Ferguson A Coastal Hearts Novel (Audible version)

Magnolia (Maggie) knows her storms.  A meteorologist by occupation living in the pathway of the past Hurricane Katrina, she finds herself absorbed in the progress of yet another massive storm in the path of those she loves.  She comes across a former love and now she must work through this relationship that she had ended at the time of her father's death.  Her life has had many personal storms as well as "weather" related ones.

Have the feelings of past experiences blocked out love for her?  She lives with the fears of what might happen and how God would allow certain things to happen to good people.  This is a story of second chances, learning to trust in God again and trying to be in control of things to come.  Very good book.

Holidays in Willow Valley by Linda Weaver Clarke (Audible Version)

I have enjoyed all of Linda Weaver Clarke's books.  You can be assured that they are all clean and sweet.  This book contains six short stories of various characters and different holidays celebrated in the 1840 time period.  It is interesting to read of people's customs, and their differences from other countries.  These are enjoyable stories to read any time of year, not just in holiday times.

The talented narrator brings the characters to life in these sweet stories.  Carolyn Kashner is full of enthusiastic voices for the different characters.

The characters are all wonderful  and the book carries sweet Christian values which I love.

These are very entertaining stories and I hope you will take the time to read them!

The Rancher Takes a Cook by Misty M. Beller (Audible Version)

I love this author and having a chance to "hear" one of her historical books was a real treat for me.  This is Book 1 of the Texas Rancher Trilogy.  So I am hoping I can get a chance to read or listen to the remaining 2 books in this series.

The story takes place in Seguin, Texas.  This is very near to where one of my ancestor's came as a Polish immigrant in 1854, probably close to the time period of the book. So I am very familiar with this area and the land. That was a definite plus for me!

Anna's brother takes a job as a cattle hand on the ranch and she is worried about him and so she takes the job of cook so she can keep a little eye on her brother.  I really enjoyed this book.  Most of the books that I have had the pleasure of reading from this author are historical adventure stories, so this was nice to see another side of her writing talents.

I enjoyed listening to this Audible book very much.  I loved also that I could be driving, cooking and doing other things while listening to this story!  I enjoyed the expressions and accents used by the narrator, Tiffany Williams.

Loved the book!

A Pleasant Rivalry by Linda Weaver Clarke (Audible Version)

This was book 3 in the Series called A Willow Valley Historical Romance.  I loved this Audible book!  It was a great historical read and full of surprises.  I totally didn't expect what happened to happen.  So that being said, the time period was an interesting one and I love how the author intertwines historical events and her faith into the story.  It was a new and refreshing tale.

Two different writers for competitive newspapers work on getting the best stories.  They are old friends who were separated in time by 13 years and meet again in their positions as news reporters.

The narrator, Carolyn Kashner, has interesting and enjoyable vocal ability.  It is pleasant to listen to and to hear the different expressions as she told the story.

I am sure you will enjoy this Audible book!  I highly recommend it!

Angel's Serenade by Linda Weaver Clarke. Narrated by Carolyn Kashner

I loved this sweet historical romance by Linda Weaver Clarke.  All her books are clean, sweet and very fun and interesting to read.  I was happy to be able to listen to this one.  The story and the characters were caring and good people who were concerned with others and their well-being.

Carolyn Kashner is the narrator used by the author.  I have enjoyed listening to her style and voice.  She uses different tones and voices to make it easy to know who is speaking.

It had adventure too with the river pirates.  I have to be honest and had never heard of them before, so this was something new for me.  But after I thought about it, I see how this could definitely have been a problem for those traveling along the rivers and being vulnerable to attack.

I know you will enjoy this book.  It is a very good book and I wouldn't have wanted to miss even one of Linda Weaver Clarke's wonderful books.

One Last Dance Audible Version by Linda Weaver Clarke

This is such a good book and the Audible version is so enjoyable.  It is very well narrated by Carolyn Kashner, who has done many of Linda Weaver Clarke's Audible books.  It is really fun and relaxing to just listen and enjoy while cooking, cleaning, walking or whatever you choose.  And even when driving to work.  I really enjoyed it and am sure you will also!  It is a sweet, clean and Christian romance.

When Felicity arrives at home after her father's passing, she finds her mother's new and somewhat mysterious neighbor who her mother has befriended and seems to have plans for.

This book has some romance, and some mystery and is a historical novel, starting out in the 1830's.  I enjoyed this book and the characters very much.  It's a sweet and clean book and is a great read.  I am sure you will love it, too!

Anasazi Intrigue by Linda Weaver Clarke Audible Version

When I heard of this title it fascinated me greatly because I have a real interest in the Indian petroglyphs, especially those in the state of Utah, where I live.

This amazing artwork and the ancient villages where the Anasazi Indians lived are so amazing and a wonderful sight to see.

This Audible book by Linda Weaver Clarke weaves history, fiction, mystery and romance all into one book.

This author writes about some of the events that occurred in Utah some years ago.  It is a most interesting way of uniting history and fiction into one very good story.  As the story begins, the devastating flood of 2005 is relentlessly taking away with it, homes, property and belongings and what appears to be a possible poison causing death to the fish and animal life.

The main characters Julia and John Evans are a charming couple.  Julia, a novice newspaper reporter hoping to become a reporter with a breaking story that will definitely make an impression.  And that she does when she starts to investigate what appears to be a less than fascinating story.  As the story progresses she runs across some pretty shady characters.  Julia seems to be a courageous woman and also a wonderful wife and mother at the same time.  Her husband, John, not without his faults, is a worthy husband and support in her adventure.

This  is a really fun read.  I especially enjoyed the history that I remember occurred, not too long ago here in Utah.  I remember the news reports of the houses being shown over and over again on the news as we watched in unbelief.

The story was interesting and I could see myself in the Virgin River area looking for the ruins and the relics that might be there to be discovered.  Loved it!

I have heard several Audible books narrated by Carolyn Kashner and this one was also great.  She has a pleasant speaking voice with great vocal expression.  I enjoyed this book in Audible form very much!

I received an Audible version of this book from the author.  All thoughts are my own.

The Bilionare's Christmas Miracle by Lorana Hoopes AUDIBLE Version

I really enjoyed this.  It was the first "billionaire" book that I had read and listened too, so I wasn't really sure...but it was really good.  Loved the Cinderella type storyline.  I enjoyed the characters and pretty much everything else.  It's a good book.  I recommend it!

I was surprised that the author narrated her own book.  I haven't seen that before.  But she has a really pleasant speaking voice and did a good job with expression and character differences.

I received an Audible copy from the author.  All thoughts are my own.

Lawfully Matched by Lorana Hoopes AUDIBLE Version

This is the second book of this author that I have been fortunate enough to read and listen to.  Very sweet romance.  The characters were well matched and made a good fit even though they had no idea!  The narrator was Daniel James Lewis.  He had a little bit of a southern accent to his voice which added to the Texas feel of the book.  It was fun to listen to and his expressions and "voices" were well portrayed.

Enjoyed how the steadily paced book progressed and there was suspence and romance to keep things interesting.

The book was of a novella length and I was able to finish listening to it in one sitting.  I enjoyed it very much.

I received an Audible copy from the author.  All thoughts are my own.

Surgeon's Choice by Richard Mabry MD (Audible Version)

Love Audible books!  They are so fun to listen to, especially while you are commuting and can't read a physical book, yet want to "read".  This is the first Audible book I have listened to from this author.  I really love his books and the Audible version was also great.  The narrator did a great job with expressions, voices, etc.  I enjoyed listening to him.

This latest novella by Richard L. Mabry, M.D. is an absolute must-read.  There is no down-time in this book.  The action starts and keeps going to the very end.  I had a hard time putting this down to do anything other than read!

This retired Medical Doctor turned author has applied his medical knowledge and experience to a realistic and captivating mystery.  It kept me spellbound till the very end.

I highly recommend this well-written and exciting book.  I look forward to anything this author produces!

I was provided an Audible version of this novel by the author, but the review is my own opinion.

Sarah's Special Gift by Linda Weaver Clarke

I love this series by Linda Weaver Clarke.  This was the Audible version and I was able to listen while doing other things.  Love that!  I enjoyed the narrator, Carolyn Kashner,

Sarah's Special Gift was book 4 in the Bear Lake Family Saga series.  I really enjoyed it and it was a fun read for me since my daughter was also a dance teacher.  The difference though is the fact that Sarah has been deaf since contracting an illness.  As a result, it is truly a gift that she is such a wonderful dancer, not being able to even hear the music.

As she meets David, their lives become entwined and at the beginning he has no idea that she can't hear as she speaks well.

I love how the characters of the earlier books are carried through into this book and you can see how their lives developed through time. And I love reading and listening to books about places that I know and recognize.  I look forward to the next book!  This series is wonderful and very enjoyable for all ages of readers.
