Love Conquers All: A Star Lake Romance #3 by Lorana Hoopes

This is book 3 of  the series called A Star Lake Romance.  I haven't read the previous books, but it was definitely a stand alone book.  This story relates the story of Lanie, freshly divorced and Azarius Jacobson, also divorced.  As they meet after not having seen one another in years, a spark is kindled.  Their story is one of learning to trust others, trust God, and to overcome the not always so easy to deal with problems that life sometimes throws at you. 

The book is fairly fast paced so there is no time to get bored.  It's an interesting book and covers real-life issues.

I enjoyed it and will be reading more from this author.

A Courtship on Huckleberry Hill (The Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill) by Jennifer Beckstrand

Jennifer Beckstrand is one of my favorite Amish romance authors.  Her books are funny, real, and entertaining.  What more could you want?

It's book 8 of the Huckleberry Hill Series and I am still not tired of reading them!

Anna and Felty Helmuth of Bonduel, WI., are not your typical Amish, but you can't help but to love them!  Anna and Felty have had lots of success with finding the perfect match for many of their grandchildren.  And she has now found her granddaughter's match!  At least she feels that this is the case.  However, the two parties involved are not too eager to follow through with Anna's plans.

This book encompasses the lives of those in a physically disabled condition in an honest and down-to-earth way.  I enjoyed the messages and the strength that came through for the characters.  I think that you will enjoy this book, whether or not you have read the previous books. 

I recommend this book to those who enjoy Amish fiction.

Th Spiritual Legacy of Laura Ingalls Wilder. A Prairie Girl's Faith by Stephen W. Hines

As a young Minnesota girl, it was part of school life to read the books by Laura Ingalls Wilder.  For me, this was definitely not a chore, but an absolute delight.  The love for reading was kindled in me from these and similar type books.

This new book by Stephen W. Hines, looks at the insights of Laura's life and legacy.  The well written book shares not only a bit about prairie life, both the hard, the wonderful and the real, but also some of the things that made Laura "tick", so to speak.  It almost felt as though her life was studied and shared her innermost reasons for being who she was.  Both the good and maybe not-so perfect Laura, was related and explained.

It was wonderful to read this book, having been such a childhood fan, and to see the social and personal feelings of Laura and how trials of our faith  send you in directions you never knew would happen in your life.  There are also several pages of pioneer recipes from Laura's associates.

I found the title of chapter 10 somewhat thought provoking.  It was "What Laura Means to Us".  Laura meant a lot to me as a child and her legacy will outlive that of most of ours.  This book shares the history, the social and family networking of those days and I feel by reading this book I have come to understand them.  And in some ways would love to relive them.  The book depicts some of the cultural shifts which appeared over the passing of time.  It's a  good book to help us appreciate those who came before us and pioneered in this land and what our lives were built on.  Highly recommend this book!

The Fox of Cordovia by Linda Weaver Clarke Audible Version

The Fox of Cordovia is book 3 of the Rebel Series by Linda Weaver Clarke, narrated by Carolyn Kashner.  Each book contains its own interesting plot and so could serve as a stand-alone book, as well.  As with the other books, it is also a historical fiction of  a clean and enjoyable nature.  There is nothing to worry about if a younger reader would want to read the book.

It contains adventure, romance, and pirates!  If this is the type of book that intriques you, you will love it.

Carolyn Kashner is a talented narrater with a very expressive style that is fun and easy to listen to making the Audible version very enjoyable.
