The Amish Rancher's Return by Amy Lillard

 I love a good second chance story.  It was a sweet story of Isaiah who was in love with Priscilla and suddenly decides to go to Montana to ranch.  Priscilla is devastated by this and takes matters into her own hands and moves on with her life.  Life continues and he return's.  Is it too late to make amends?  

It is a good read and I really enjoyed the storyline and also the secondary story line of the store being put  up for sale where Priscilla has her Amish things to sell.  I think that Amish book readers will really enjoy this book.  I highly recommend it!

The Amish Nanny's Secret by Amy Lillard

Naomi has big plans to attend art school, not exactly what the Amish are supposed to be doing.  But it is her biggest dream.  She doesn't quite know how she will pay for the school, but has an opportunity to be a nanny for an Amish widower.  Josiah has five lively little boys and as she works at his home, it becomes comfortable and maybe a bit more!  I really loved this sweet story and the characters were easy to enjoy as they become more accustomed to one another. Naomi has to make some important decisions, both of which can change her life.  This was a very enjoyable read and I recommend it!

The Amish Bachelor's Promise by Amy Lillard

I really enjoyed this sweet Amish romance.  Two friends since childhood find themselves in an interesting situation.  Freeman has just experienced a difficult breakup only to see a long-time friend through different eyes. He remembers a promise that they made years ago that if they were both single at 22, they would marry. But I think that Evie, his friend, might just feel like a burden to him because of her spina bifida.  Although she appears to be holding back her feelings, Freeman feels that she is the woman for him and he is determined! The story is emotional and touching.  They learn to trust and to see that this just might be God's plan for them.  This was a very enjoyable feel good story!

A Murder for the Sages by Amy Lillard (A Sunflower Cafe Mystery Book 3)

This was a cute mystery by the author.  The book brings back characters from the first two books in the series.  So it would be good to read the previous books. It brings back Sissy Yoder and her friends as the amateur detectives, all being certain that Ginger did not just have an accident.  Someone did this to her!  Its a fun "who-dun-it and the members of the town are all interesting characters which add to the storyline.  The storyline was maybe a bit slow for me. I really liked Aunt Bess' quotations at the beginning of the chapters, especially the kidney stone one.  I can relate!

The Amish Christmas Promise by Amy Lillard

Mattie finds herself expecting a child as her husband unexpectedly passes on.  Samuel is her husband's twin, one who left the Amish and was shunned by his Amish community.  He has come back to keep a promise to care for his twin brother, David's family.

I so enjoyed this sweet romance.  The characters were all believable and Samuel was trying to find his path back to his Amish community, but because of his past life experiences, he is having a difficult time moving forward.  Gossip spreads quickly and things become more and more difficult.

I loved the little goat in the story, always into mischief.  I really thought this was a most engaging book.  I was caught up in it right away.  This was a very sweet romance.  But will Samuel be able to move beyond the events of his former English life?

when Hattie Finds Love by Amy Lillard (Heartwarming Amish romance set in Missouri (Paradise Valley Book 4)

 

This is a sweet and clean romance of a member of the widow’s group, Hattie.  She and her cousin, Elsie decide to make a little bet that Hattie can get a certain grumpy looking widower to “smile”.  Not normally a big challenge but in the case of widower, Christian, it appears to be impossible.  And it is definitely going to be a challenge to see if a smile will ever happen… This is a really enjoyable book and is a light and refreshing story. The story develops in a very organic way and the characters are so nice you just enjoy them so much. I really enjoyed all the characters and their individual roles in the story.  It was a well-paced book and I recommend it to all those Amish fiction lovers out there!  And if you haven’t read Amish fiction, it’s a great way to start your love of this genre.

A Murder of Aspic Proportions (A Sunflower Cafe Mystery Book 2) by Amy Lillard

This is the second book of this series with Sissy Yoder, as the town mystery solver.  The man who was murdered wasn't loved by the community leaving lots of possible murderers to sift through.  It was a cozy mystery and took place in Yoder, Kansas where there are lots of people of that  same surname, which is highly likely among the Amish community.  It was a cute story, with some hints of romance which weren't quite developed in this book but maybe will move forward in another addition to this series.  We shall see!

It was a nice and enjoyable read and I am thinking there will be some more books in the series.

The Amish Matchmaker by Amy Lillard (Paradise Valley Book 2)

This was such a cute story!  I just loved it.  The characters were all so engaging.  And it was a book that once you started, you kept right on reading.  It was such a fun book.  The book took right off from the beginning to end.  No dull moments as Astrid becomes the matchmaker for Imogene, a widow with twin boys who needs a husband and father to help her.  Astrid is a romance writer and is surprised at Imogene's request to help her find her match. But she's right on the job!  

I loved the storyline, love, friendships and a few laughs along the way.  It was a really enjoyable tale and I loved the humor when confusion hits! I loved the characters of the twin boys, Mattie and Mahlon who helped to add humor and a little chaos to the story.  All in all, this book is a sure winner for all who love Amish fiction.  Can't wait for book 3!

Forget me not, Baby by Amy Lillard

Aw!  This story was so very, very cute.  It was a sweet story of Sydney, a busy city gal with a high profile job, and Waite, an ostrich rancher!  What a crazy combination, and definitely one with interesting challenges!  

As Sydney's father and Waite team up to start the ranch, Sydney, who holds the purse strings, puts the kibosh on the duo.  There is no way!  An unexpected event happens and Sydney's life has a dramatic turn!

I loved this story.  I read it in just two sittings.  Couldn't get enough of the wonderful story.  The characters are engaging, fun and very likeable!  The story was perfect in every way!

Dairy, Dairy, Quite Contrary (A Sunflower Café Mystery)

I love a nice cozy mystery.  And this one suits me quite well.  I love the book cover, and the story ran smoothly and was very enjoyable.  I love that cozy mysteries are exactly that and even have a little humor in them as did this one.  It's the beginning book of a cozy series.  Which I suspect will be fun and mysterious. The story was in the Amish town of "Yoder", a good Amish name, where most of the towns' people had that surname.

I wondered who had the most reason to commit the murder of the milkman. There were several that might have had some grounds to do just that. But is was hard to be sure of anyone. 

I enjoyed Sissy's character and hoped she would find the answer to "who dun it". The murder appears to have been blamed on her, and things don't go to well in her favor with the sheriff.

Each chapter heading had a little quote by "Aunt Bess" and I loved the quote for chapter 11.  I could completely relate to that one!

A nice story that you will have a hard time figuring out because of the twists and turns.  I was given a complimentary copy and was not required to give a positive review.   All thoughts are my own.

This Little Piggy: A Kappy King Kaper Book 4 by Amy Lillard

This is another in the Kappy King Kapers series.  And it is a fun and is a cozy Amish mystery that you will enjoy.  This light hearted mystery is entertaining and has fun and quirky characters that you will enjoy and remember from previous books.  I enjoy Jimmy, who can be a bit of a challenge, now and then, but is truly loveable.  This is a fun who-dunit and everyone has something to say about what happened to poor old Balthazar!

You will love the fun with the pigs and Jimmy is in "Pig heaven".  I have to personally relate to Jimmy's love for pigs as my mom raised two little pigs when we was a girl.  So I especially enjoyed the cute story.

It's an enjoyable book and I loved it as I have the previous books, as well.

Marry Me Millie by Amy Lillard Paradise Valley Series

I was so excited to read the first book in this new series by Amy Lillard.  I just love everything I read from this author and really enjoyed this sweet romance.  This story is based in Missouri.  Millie is an Amish woman who has just experienced the tragic event of her husband's death.  And then she discovers a baby is on the way.  
 

I loved the matchmaker. Sylvie, a member of the Widows Club, who has plans for Millie and Henry, but does Millie want this?  There are some sweet humorous lines in the book which I really enjoyed reading.  And if you don't know anything about Whoopie Pies, you will soon!  Plus there are some recipes at the end and I am going to make some Whoopie Pies of my own!  This is an enjoyable start to a new series and I can't wait for the next book!

A New Love For Charlotte by Amy Lillard (Wells Landing Series)

 This is another wonderful read by Amy Lillard.  You can't go wrong choosing one of her Amish stories.  They are always so good.  I have read the other books in this series and I have loved getting to know all the characters that carry through in the various books.

It was a great book, I loved the story and can't say enough good things about it.  You will love it!  Charlotte has some decisions she needs to make and this book identifies with the fact that God has his own timing for things and often we need to be patient for things to come together for her.  This book shows many feelings of love and family.

A Murder Between the Pages by Amy Lillard (Main Street Book Club Mysteries book 2)

There is nothing better than a great mystery and I loved this one.  I loved the first book and this book is a great addition to the series.  I loved reading about the fun characters in the book club and how they get wrapped up into a cold case and a fresh case.

I loved the mystery and the humor, both in this fun page-turner.  The book club ladies turn into investigators, once more and run into a murder of a young girl.  This is a cozy mystery and if this is your genre, you will just love it!  The interweaving of the book that they are reading in their club and what is actually going on is very cool.  Book club members in their 80's can make for a lively and fun read.

An Amish Husband For Tillie by Amy Lillard Amish of Pontotoc Book 4

This is book 4 of The Amish of Pontotoc Series.  Amy is such a great author and touches on real-life problems, which also touch the lives of  the Amish people.  Tillie finds herself going home to her Amish town and family.  She has much to think about as she realizes what her future may hold for her as she heads home.  Pregnant and single, she returns to her family.  But how will she be accepted by  family, friends and Amish community?  Uncertain as to how the father of her child with respond, she realizes that she does want to be Amish, but in her condition, things may not go well.

Levi, a young Amish man, who recently became widowed is so unhappy and full of grief and finding a pregnant woman during a sudden storm is not something he expects or wants to become involved with.

The story is very touching, and full of tender moments.  As Christmas quickly approaches, the bishop of her community tells her she must make life determining decisions very soon thereafter.  What will the future bring?

Such a good book..   It's very enjoyable to read and a feel good book you will love!

The Oregon Trail Romance Collection by various Authors

This book is a very sweet and entertaining set of nine stories of hardships and happiness.  I have read books from several of the authors and a few were new to me and I enjoyed them all.  Very nice and enjoyable book!

I would love to see more of these types of collections!

Loving Jenna by Amy Lillard

This was the first book of this kind that I have read.  A different type of Amish romance, but definitely very sweet, touching and definitely GOOD!  Jenna, her mom and grandmother start a new life in Wells Landing.  Jenna is a "special" young woman caused by a childhood accident that left her different than before.  In the new home town, Jenna is noticed by another special person, Buddy.  Their friendship blossoms and despite concerns of family and friends, they are determined to be together.

This book is so good.  You will be very emotionally moved by the characters, their obstacles that hinder their personal growth and their determination to succeed.  I loved it.

You Can't Judge a Book By It's Murder by Amy Lillard Book 1 Main Street Book Club Mystery

This was a fun cozy mystery and I totally enjoy a good mystery-who-dun-it type of book.  I liked the idea of the All-school reunion, having been to one that was so fun.  So the book starts right out with a body and the police are convinced it was a suicide, but Arlo and Chloe, best friends, feel differently.  They are convinced he was pushed. 

This book takes place in Mississippi and has a fun Southern flavor to it.  There are some rather fun villagers among the "cast of characters" and I enjoyed the fun that these people brought to the story-line.

A Family For Gracie by Amy Lillard

I haven't yet read an Amish book written by this author that I absolutely haven't loved.  They are all just "plain" wonderful!  The characters were well-developed and the book was well paced as the changes in the lives of Matthew and Gracie took place.

I loved Gracie's personality.  I thought she was amazing and had wonderful qualities, yet was not afraid to speak her mind when she felt it was needed.  She had a lot of faith in God's path for her and those she came to care about deeply.

This was a genuinely good read, a clean and inspiring book.  Loved it!

Kappy King and the Pie Kaper by Amy Lillard Book 3 of the Amish Mysteries Series

This is the 3rd book in this series that I have read.  I definitely enjoyed them all.  This was a light, happy and "cozy" mystery and kept my attention.  Loved the interaction between Edie, the shunned Amish and Kappy, the Amish young woman.  As the mystery enfolds, there are lots of odd clues to work with and to figure out.

It's a fun "who dun it" type book and a captivating one.
