Plain Jane's Secret Admirer by Anne Blackburne (The Heart of the Amish Book 11)

This book was a sweet addition to the series and could be easily read as a stand-alone.  When Sam was a teen, he gave Jane a nickname, unknown to her.  The nickname spread and Jane was strapped with a nickname that she totally hated.  As the years passed she still had no idea where that name came from.  But the culprit felt full of guilt and was not able to apologize to her out of fear of how she would react.  Because now he was very attracted to her and was trying to win her heart.  It is a cute story that has a side plot revolving on a missing cat.  Sam is a rather shy guy, and despite his friends advice, he just doesn't seem to know how to admit his fault so that he can move past it.

I enjoyed the story but it was a little slow moving at times.  Other than that, it was a nice and clean read.

Lizzie's Little Mouse by Anne Blackburne

This was a really fun cozy mystery.  I loved the characters and Little Mouse, especially!  As someone makes efforts to foil Lizzie's plans for a successful New Orleans style French bakery, Lizzie and her friends face several obstacles to keep things going.  Her friends are there to help and a little romance adds to the story, of course.  Who is trying to cause her to give up on her plans? And I love the historical aspect that totally engages me! It is a refreshing new book of  an Amish Entrepreneur who faces unexpected trials and twists!  I loved it!

Mary's Calico Hope by Anne Blackburne

I loved this story of The Heart of the Amish Series!  It was a sweet story of Mary, who was in a serious and tragic accident causing her many surgeries, pain and the use of crutches.  She meets the Mennonite doctor and the story continues.  There are many ups and downs as Mary has pretty much resigned herself that she won't marry.  And being a baptized Amish, a relationship with someone not of her faith would cause her to be shunned.  Its a heartwarming story.  I felt it was a very good read.

Ruth's Ginger Snap Surprise by Anne Blackburne (The Heart of the Amish)

I thought this was such a sweet and pleasant book to read.  After a hectic month, I needed a relaxing and enjoyable read and this book was just that for me.  I loved the kitten factor.  I loved the pushy bishop and all the characters were very likeable in their own ways, including even obnoxious Evelyn.  The story is nice in every way and I hope to read more from this author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.  All thoughts are my own.
