Butterfly Cottage by Carrie Fancett Pagels

This is a contemporary fiction set in a beautiful surrounding as the picture depicts.  It is a story of family issues that deal with the heart.  Family relationships and situations that can cause feelings of loss as the family comes together from different places and converge to the family cottage at the Straits of Mackinac.

This is a different story for this author that was very enjoyable and I love the author's beautiful descriptions of this special place.  The author has a wonderful way with words and this book will keep you reading.  You will want to know how all things turn out! The characters are very interesting and will capture your heart.  I recommend this heartwarming book.

I received an ebook copy from the author.  All thoughts are my own.

Brooke's Quest by J.E.B. Spredemann (Amish Girls Series)

This is book 7 of this young adult series.  I read them out of order but I still enjoyed the story, the characters and the lessons learned.  It was a story of Brooke, an "Englischer" girl who searches for Christian values in her life.  The story depicts her wondering about Christ's teachings versus perhaps "science" and it's differing opinions, she finds her way through Seth who she quickly develops a relationship with.

It's a good story about the search for light.  I enjoyed it very much!

Leah's Legacy by J.E.B. Spredemann (Amish Girls Series)

This was a book geared for young adults, and although I am not one, I still enjoyed reading the story of Leah and Ben. They were teens Leah is trying to determine whether she should remain Amish or find a way in the Englisch world.  This was the final book in the series.  Personally, I think she should write some more!

This book dealt with real life situations, such as alcoholism and teens that were making very bad choices and how those choices affected others.  All her books bring in Christian values which is something that I enjoy in reading books.

The Miracle Tree by Davalyn Spencer Audible Version

I just finished listening to this Audible version by Davalynn Spencer.  It was really enjoyable and I enjoyed the romance, the storyline, and the characters so much. It was a western in today's time period, so not a "historical" western and was a book with plenty of action and enjoyable animals as well.

The narrator Michelle Dyan Whitehead did a nice job of telling the story and interpreting the characters.  I loved the voices she used and it was pleasant to listen to.

I received an Audible version from the author.  All thoughts are my own.

The Jam and Jelly Nook by Amy Clipston An Amish Marketplace Novel Book 4

This is the conclusion of the series entitled An Amish Marketplace Novel.  Book 4 was a sweet book with members of the marketplace from prior books of the series which were fun to again meet and remember.  This was Leanna's story, a single mother who operates a booth at the Amish market and has a son that wasn't following Amish guidelines.

Emory is a widowed Amish man with a teen daughter.  As the paths of Leanna and Emory cross, they find they have much in common and they start a friendship.  But their feelings change, but due to misunderstandings, little lies and other outside influences, things just don't seem to work out as either had expected or hoped.

It's a sweet novel and has good family situations of learning to understand and listen to each other's needs and feelings.

I received an ebook copy from NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.

A Second Chance for Love (A Sea Glass Bay Romance Book) By Anna J. Stewart, Kayla Perrin, Melinda Curtis & Cari Lynn Webb

This contemporary romance was a set of four novellas in anthology style as they connected to one another's lives and within each novella.  It was fun to have a book in a seaside location to set the mood for these romance stories yet each story was different and interesting to read.  It is nice how all the stories come together and leave a happy feeling at the end.

The four authors did a good job of weaving together their individual contributions to the book.  And each story transitioned smoothly to the next.  The characters were interesting and unique.  The women were strong and concerned of others.  Nice romantic stories that you will enjoy.

Kiss Me At Midnight by Melinda Curtis A Kissing Test Novel

If you are in need of an enjoyable, light-hearted fun romance, this is the book for you!  I so much enjoyed the characters, Lilly, Judson and adorable Dotty!  Grandma Dotty will make you relax and have a great laugh.  And don't we all need some comic relief these days.

Their arrangement of  "convenience" to serve their specific purposes at the time is a fun segue  into a cute romance that will engage your interest throughout!  This is book 3 in the Kissing Test series.  It is truly enjoyable!

I received an ebook copy from the author.  All thoughts are my own.

The Amish Secret Wish by Laura V. Hilton Hidden Springs Series book 3

Such a cute and different Amish story!  Hallie is a scribe for an Amish newspaper and has to keep that under wraps, so to speak.  Through this means she becomes pen pals and gets to really know an Amish man, Hezekiah, AKA Kiah, who falls in love with "the scribe".  He is determined to meet her and marry this woman.  So they meet!  The rest you will need to find out on your own.

The book was a light and even funny at times, book!  I enjoyed it and I loved the sweet story.  I remembered some things from the previous book in the series that came to light in book 3, but it can easily be a stand-alone book.

I received an ebook copy from NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.

Christmas With the Colburns by Keely Brooke Keith

Although it isn't Christmas, I had this sweet book in my Audible Library and so I needed a nice book to listen to and it was very enjoyable.  This was a sweet story of family, and the true Christmas Spirit that we all look for at that time of year.

Lydia is a doctor and is surprised that her siblings didn't plan on visiting for the Holidays.  Very disappointed and her aunt gives her a journal that she had never seen before which her deceased mother wrote, when she, too, found sadness in her life.

Kate Fisher was the narrator and brought the characters to life.  A very nice read.

Present Danger by Elizabeth Goddard Rocky Mountain Courage Series Book 1

This was an amazing book!  I haven't read any of books by this author, but hope I will in the future.  She writes a spell-binding book that you just can't put down.

In this book you will have no time to catch your breath as Terra and Jack, a former beau, team together to find a murderer who seems all too elusive.  There are lots of unexpected events in the book as Terra appears to a target for the killer. I love the archeological themes of the book.  I love old Native American art and culture so it captivated me!

The plot and the characters were so well developed that the suspense was very intense and yet very believable.   Each of the characters have underlying stories as well as their past together that didn't end as Terra had hoped.

All in all, I totally loved this book.  If you like a great suspense, this will not disappoint you!  Not a boring moment to be found!  It is easily a 5 star read.

I received a copy of this book from Revell Publishing.  All thoughts are my own.

The Harvest of Grace by Cindy Woodsmall

I haven't read one of Cindy's books in a long time, so was happy to find that I had a copy of this on my bookshelf.  I probably had it for quite a while and didn't realize it.  I love this author's books and this one was wonderful.

This book was a lot about learning to trust, both God and others even when at times the trust was broken along the way.  The book deals with several of our human foibles that cause issues in the lives of both Amish and Englisch people, such as addictions  sorrow and guilt.

As the characters strive to keep the farm up and running, many things stand in the way of the perfect life.  Much as life in reality truly is.  It's a book of learning to forgive and to ask for help when we can't deal with everything on our own.'

Did I like this book?  Yes, definitely.  I will continue to be a fan of this author!

The Curator's Daughter by Melanie Dobson

I really, really  wanted to read this book.  It did not disappoint.  The reason of my particular interest is because my parents were Germans living in their in this time period.  Although their situations were greatly different then that of Hanna, they too, were caught up in this horrible time.

The book is a time slip book, something I seem to have read quite frequently, lately.  This one was expertly accomplished and very believable.  The story of Hanna was totally captivating to me. I couldn't put the book down.  It was dramatic and poignant.  The contemporary and historical timelines wove together into an excellent story as they converged perfectly.  The research done was excellent.  I highly recommend this book.

I received an ebook version from NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.

I really enjoy a good suspense and mystery!  This book is another in the Smiley and McBlythe Mystery Series.  If you love a good mystery, you will really enjoy this book.  It's an intriguing book, that will keep you guessing as to who the culprit was.  This author is a great mystery author and I am sure you will enjoy this captivating read!

This book revolves around a will and the siblings who are all hoping they will be the recipients of the best parts of the will.  During this time two murders come into play and the search for the killer begins.  You will love this book as you read about the various family members wondering and who may be the killer.  But it will surprise you!
