Mrs. Witherspoon Goes To War by Mary Davis (Heroines of WWII)

I really enjoyed Mrs. Witherspoon Goes to War.  She is a widow and mom of two daughters who chooses to do her part in the war effort.  I think she is a strong character as were her two fellow WASPS.  She has ambition and sees the worth of a soul!  And that was something I loved about her.  Their patriotism was amazing and speaks highly of the women who were actively involved in the war efforts despite their male counterparts that saw them through a different viewpoint and were not always supportive of their efforts.

There was romance between Peggy and the major that grew over time.  There was adventure and action the story continues.  It was a story that kept you reading and I enjoyed it very much.

I received a copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.  All thoughts are my own.

Lumberjacks & Ladies byJennifer Lamont Leo, Naomi Musch, Candice Sue Patterson, Pegg Thomas

The first story written by Candice Sue Patterson, was very sweet and enjoyable.  I had not read any of this author's books before, but I really enjoyed her writing and am going to watch for her future books.  It was an engaging and somewhat intriguing read.  Yes, there was a little crime going on that made for some good reading!

The second story was by author Pegg Thomas.  Eliza Beth is a cook for a logging crew and there is an interesting "conflict" between what appears as suitors wanting her attentions.  However, she wants to get away from the camp and pursue her teaching abilities.  It's a very good story and although these stories are shorter than a full length book, the characters have been well developed and are very believable.

The third story was written by Naomi Musch.  I enjoy how these stories take you to different logging camps in different states, Maine, Michigan, Wisconsin and Idaho. And Naomi's book takes you to Wisconsin.  This is about a marriage of convenience and need and I love how it turns out and it was definitely a "feel good" story.

The final story in the book was written by Jennifer Lamont Leo.  It was the most  historically recent of the stories and I could tell that quickly as I was reading.  It took place in 1890 Idaho.  A little mystery going on here as to the financial situation of the timberland business.  This and the other stories makes for entertaining reading which I feel were very interest retaining and well worth your time!  It's very good and I am so happy that I read these great historicals!

Edgewater Road by Shelley Shepard Gray (The Rumors in Ross County Series)

This book was not at all what I normally have read from this author, that being lots of Amish books.  It was about Jennifer Smiley, a young woman who inherited a house from her grandmother and finding out family secrets and that all is not always as it appears.

Jennifer finds new friendships and then is concerned when she finds out about these new friends that are not what she would have expected.  It's a most interesting book and the storyline is new and different.  There is a touch of Amish here as well!  The book is about forgiving, moving on, and acceptance of those people that have made past mistakes and are trying to repair the past.  And that love is not always perfect.

Such a good book.  I really enjoyed this page-turner.  And I am enjoying how this author is branching out into different styles of writing. I highly recommend this well-written book.

I received an ebook copy from the author.  All thoughts are my own.

Snowbound Amish Survival by Mary Alford

This book is so full of suspense.  It totally leaves you on the edge of your seat as it tells its tale.  It is so riveting!  Hope and Naomi find themselves in danger and that danger is relentless on finding her.  There seems to be no escaping the attackers and no safe place to run to.

Wow, this book took my breath away.  It's an absolute page turner, and you won't be able to turn the pages fast enough to see what happens next.

I love a real mystery and suspense and with a little bit of romance edging its way into the situation.

This is a book that doesn't disappoint and never has a dull moment.  I highly recommend it!

I received an ebook copy of this book from the author.  All thoughts are my own.

I  entered a giveaway in December and won the Cupid's Crossing series, of which I received also this Bonus Short book, as well. It was a sweet love story of Ben, whose sisters were determined to find him a bride.  It's an enjoyable story with a nice storyline and fun characters that are pleasant and fun to read about.

Thanks Lori Soard for this fun set of books!

Amish Willow by Samantha Price (Amish Love Blooms Book 6)

Although this is book 6, I have only read two books of this series.  But I enjoyed both even without all the previous books.  Having read Amish Daisy, I did recognize certain characters in the book which made it quite enjoyable.  I enjoyed that Willow was a strong-willed and not "to be pushed" around personality.  She was not going to settle for an arranged marriage without love at any cost.  I liked her character traits which kept me reading.  It was an engaging and enjoyable book.

I won this book in a contest.  And I loved it!

Widow's Secrets by Shelley Shepard Gray

I was lucky to receive this book gifted to me by the author!  It was fun and interesting to read a contemporary book with mystery and some romance and a touch of Amish life.  I am very used to reading this author's Amish books, and loved this one too.

The main character, Liana, suffered for years at the hands of her abusive husband.  Suddenly he is gone without a trace.  And ten years later, a police officer takes on this cold case.  Will the results be devastating in Liana's life or bring the closure needed for her?

There is lots of intrigue and hints of what might have happened, yet I wasn't sure until the end how things would work out.  It was a good read and kept me guessing!

Her Amish Identity: Amish Amnesia Romance by Jennifer Spredemann

Sarah's life suddenly has a major turn-around and she finds herself in a completely unexpected situation causing her to have to turn to God to find the answer to her extremely difficult dilemma. Sarah finds out she is living a double life due to her amnesia.

Each decision impacts those she loves.  As a result she finds God and finds a way to continue her life.

I enjoyed this book and really wondered what was she going to do with this very difficult situation.  I read it in one sitting.  Really liked how it kept me on the edge on my seat.

You'll love it!

I received an Ebook copy from the author with no expectations of a positive review.  All thoughts are my own.

The Cowboy Meets His Match by Melinda Curtis (The Mountain Monroes) Book 10

I can't get enough of The Mountain Monroe books.  They are all so good.  This story takes place on a trip after Olivia Monroe and Rhett Diaz begin a "fake" relationship.  A boating accident left Olivia nearly drowned and her confidence lost. Her family suggests that she and Rhett take a trip together.  And as the trip continues, there are adventures galore, some that I was glad I was "reading" about and not actually participating in!

It's a sweet romance with lots of activities that will keep your attention.  The characters were believable and lovable at the same time.  You can see their connection, despite the fact that they are very different types of people, with different interests and Rhett hopes that by the activities that this will help her get back her confidence.

I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to book 11!!  Can't wait.

Promises of Gold by Serena Clarke, (Audible Version) Narrated by Kimi Weldon

I wasn't sure if I would enjoy a fairytale retelling or not.  I didn't really know what to expect.  What I found was a sweet romance with heroes and villains and a surprise at the end!  The story has twists and turns and you won't know what happens next until you keep on reading!  It's amazingly clever how the author retells the tale of Rumpelstiltskin, the spinner of gold.  I have to admit, I totally forgot how this fairy tale played out.  It started to come back to me as I listened to the narrator, Kimi Weldon, tell this story to perfection.  She was a pleasing to listen to narrator and it made the story come to life.

There was great chemistry going on in the romance and it totally engaged me.  Well done!

I received an Audible copy of this book without expectation of a positive review.  All thoughts are my own.

Her Amish Identity by Jennifer Spredemann

A Lady of Refinement (Women of Courage) by Linda Weaver Clarke

Another sweet and clean and definitely enjoyable book by Linda Weaver Clarke.  I love the cover and have to admit, the look of a cover really influences my first thoughts of a book.  If I don't like the cover I don't read or buy the book.

I love how the author weaves her ancestors' stories into her fiction.  What a wonderful way to preserve your ancestors' stories while writing an engaging and interesting story.  I loved the way the character of Jonathon grew throughout the story and how he learned to impress the woman he was hoping to court. I loved how Serenity was not as "refined" as her Welsh auntie had hoped for her to be.

It's a great story and I am so happy to have read it.  I enjoyed it so much!

I received an ebook copy from the author without being required to give a positive review..  All thoughts are my own.

More Amish Christmas Miracles (Numerous Authors) Peanut Butter Christmas by Jennifer Beckstrand

I love Amish stories and this story by Jennifer Beckstrand did not disappoint.  I love the mischievous Amish twins, Alfie and Benji, who are always good at those necessary matchmaker needs.  If love doesn't go as it should, you can be sure twins are on it!  True to form, a fun and sweet Amish romance as told by Jennifer Beckstrand.

This story was one of ten delightful Christmas Miracle stories and so fun.  A second chance for Jerry and Mary.  Will the twins succeed in their sneaky plans or get themselves in trouble, as usual!

Truly a sweet and tender story mixed with some humor.  Although I am reading it after the holidays, it is every bit as good as before.  I recommend these sweet stories and hope you take the time to read them!

I received an ebook copy from one of the authors with no expectation of a positive review.  All thoughts are my own.

Never Leave Me (Waters of Time Series) Book 2 by Jody Hedlund

I didn't remember immediately that I had read the first of this series, till a bit later.  Then the character, Marian, came rushing back to my memory. The book was quite thought provoking as one wonders who would or should receive the healing water?  This is a time-slip book and goes between Middle Ages to current and leaves you feeling you have to keep on reading.  There's no stopping now!

The hunt for the Tree of Life and the healing waters makes for a very intriguing story line.  It doesn't fail!  This book has some really exciting adventure, danger and romance for sure! The book is breathtaking and that says it all!
'
The lead characters are Ellen and Harrison.  Each has serious health issues to deal through. This book, in my opinion, had so much to offer.  Really enjoyed the action and the events till the very end.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and was not required to post a positive review.  All thoughts are my own.

Sunrise by Susan May Warren Book 1 (Sky King Ranch Series)

This book was really engaging.  If you wanted to know about Alaska...here's the book for you!  I totally enjoyed visiting Alaska by way of this book.  I have to admit the series title intrigued me, too.  I am from the generation of years of a TV show called "Sky King".  So had to absolutely read this book!  So that being said, this book is full of adventure and intrigue, suspense and Romance!  What more could a reader ask for, right???

This is the first book by this author that I have had the pleasure of reading.  I am now a fan.  This was a clean book with enthralling characters.  There were huge grizzly bears, wolves, danger a great story plot of second chance romance.

I loved the title and how it related to the book.  So did I love this book?  The answer is a clear YES!

I received a copy of this book from Revell Publishing and was not required to post a positive review.  All thoughts are my own.
