An Amish Family by Kathleen Fuller

An Amish Family is a book with four novellas by Kathleen Fuller.  These stories are all clean, interesting and relaxing to read.  I enjoyed all four of them!

The individual titles are Building Trust, Surprised by Love, A Gift for Anne Marie and A Heart Full of Love.

Lots of fun and enjoyable reading is packed into each of these stories.  If I was to choose a fave, it would be Surprised by Love.  It was just a really fun story and the characters were really amazing.  You will enjoy all the stories!

I received an ebook copy from NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.

An Amish Heirloom by Amy Clipston, Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller and Kelly Irvin

I really enjoyed this set of four novellas by these well known Amish authors.  This combination was a hit for me and I especially enjoyed the one written by Beth Wiseman, which covered two periods of time, then and now and the cedar chest that held some secrets of the past.  Loved it!

I enjoyed the other stories as well and highly recommend this if you enjoy Amish fiction.

I received an ebook copy of this book from NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.

Cindy's Story by J.E.B. Spredemann (Audible Edition)

Cindy's Story is a "Fairly Tale" story by J.E.B. Spredemann.  It is the second of her Fairly Tales that I have read.  Actually because this was an Audible edition, I was able to listen to it while doing other things as the narration played on my Iphone.  The narrator was Julie Lancelot who did a good job of interpreting the different characters, making each of them more unique.

This story is about an Amish girl who at a young age has lost both her biological parents and is raised by a step-mother along with two step sisters.  It is a Cinderella story with an Amish twist.  Because she has been treated unfairly by her step-mother, she has problems which need to be overcome.  And as she meets her prince charming, she finds out about his hard to forgive past.

This is a nice and sweet story and was fun to listen to.  I enjoyed listening to this as well as the other books by these same authors.  The author shares some scriptural references which bring the story points together.  Forgiveness and love are strong themes here.  This is a good read for young ladies/

You can find this audible version available here at Amazon.

Knitting Circle Parts 1 & 2 by Karen Anna Vogel

These are the first books I have read from this author.  Nice stories, engaging.  They are short episodes and entertaining to "listen" to on my Kindle Fire.  Sorry these are short reviews, but spring has sprung and there is lots to do these days!

Amish Snowflakes - Winter Letters by Sicily Yoder

I think it was a shock to many readers of Amish fiction at the news of the sudden and unexpected passing of Sicily Yoder.  However, as sad as that is, her writings continue her legacy.

This book was another very short story and I would have been happier if it was an all-in-one volume.  It's always disappointing when it suddenly ends and you don't know what will happen.  I suspect that is so you will buy the next one and the next one.

It was a nice story, but ended to fast.  Not sure if I will get the next one or not, but I give it a 3 1/2 star rating.

Chasing Heaven by Becca Fisher

This Amish novella was also a freebie at the time I got it.  Some things didn't seem really Amish to me and it lacked depth for the characters.

It's a an Amish family with a sister getting married, another leaving the "nest" for the English world, and others still at home hoping to find the place in life with an Amish young man.

Found a few typos in it.  It was alright but I think it could have been better if perhaps some more Amish life and culture were in the book.

3 stars.

The Divine Secrets of the Whoopie Pie Sisters. The Complete Trilogy, Pam Jarrell and Sarah Price

This was another Kindle Book that I was lucky enough to get while it was a freebie.  This book about family relationships, especially four sisters that don't always see eye to eye, seemed to me to be an honest representation of Amish life.  It didn't make everything seem perfect and without disagreement.  That was what made the book come to life for me.

These four sisters run a bakery together and don't always agree.  They have problems, real life problems that they sometimes find are hard to discuss even with one another.  Sometimes they jump to false conclusions and sometimes they have secrets that they have a difficult time sharing with even their closest family members.

You will undoubtedly enjoy this trilogy, which is more of a novella than a full length book.  But it has a nice story and is engaging from the start.  5 stars!

Amish Pen Pals by Karen Anna Vogel

This was the first novella/or book that I had read that was from this author.  I enjoyed it.  It was about a young woman, Rachael who made a mistake in her life and was having a difficult time finding forgiveness, from herself, her God and her community..

She felt unworthy of the attentions of Samuel.  Although she knows what she must do, it is difficult and she blames herself for things that happened to Kate.

After Rachael comes to accept herself and learns to accept her repentance process, will the man she loves be able to forgive her past?

This story was very enjoyable.  It was short and a quick read.  I would probably enjoy other books from this author.

An Amish Cradle And a Giveaway!

If you love Amish fiction you will love this compilation from four fabulous authors, Beth Wiseman, Amy Clipston, Kathleen Fuller and Vannetta Chapman!
This book was so enjoyable to read and each story, although unique in its own way, came together as one very wonderful read.

A Son For Always shares the story of Carolyn and Joshua as they prepare for their first child together, and how Carolyn's son Benjamin will fit into their family.  Although Joshua has adopted Ben as his own son, Carolyn feels the responsibility for his financial welfare.  Will she be able to trust and have faith that they are all now one family, rather than a family separated from past mistakes in life. Author: Amy Clipston.

A Heart Full of Love is a sweet story of a mother who wants to take care of her new twin granddaughters. She feels that her daughter Ellie, who is blind due to an accident, needs lots of help and would not be able to handle things on her own.  Ellie feels heartbroken as she is unable to begin the bonding she had hoped to have with her new twins.  When will her mother allow her to be the mother she had always hoped to be?  And why won't she let her? Author: Kathleen Fuller.

A Heart Full of Love by Kathleen Fuller

A Heart Full of Love was a really sweet story.  Ellie and Christopher are happily expecting twins.  Ellie's mother is not quite so happy as she is concerned about the situation because of Ellie's accident which caused her to lose her sight.

As the two beautiful girls are born, Ellie's mother goes into action taking on the full responsibility of caring for the twins. Ellie seems to get very little if any bonding time with the babies she has brought into the world as her mother controls most of their daily life and schedule.  The situation becomes very difficult for Ellie to handle and both Ellie and Christopher realize something needs to change.

It is even more difficult for Ellie to understand why her mother will not allow Ellie to be the mother she has always hoped to become.

A heartwarming story that you won't want to miss.  It is a perfect companion to the remaining novellas in this book.  You will not be disappointed!
