Among The Innocent by Mary Alford

This book had me reading in the wee hours.  It was so good.  It was VERY suspenseful, a total nail-biting experience! Former Amish Leah, witnessed the death of her entire family.  10 years later she is a member of the police force and working under the new chief, Dalton.  They work together to find who is again following the same MO of the murders of Leah's family.

There is non-stop action, lots of unsolved crimes and a fearful Amish community as the killer continues his crime spree.  The killer is after Leah and is relentless in tormenting her. There is a little romance here, too, so not only suspense to keep your interest going.  Leah's character is well developed by the author and you become so engaged with the plot you won't be putting it down for too long. You are going to love this one!

Vanished Without a Trace by Sarah Hamaker

What could be better than suspense and romance.  What  a great combination!  This book was exactly that and kept my attention till the very end. Henderson has been looking for his sister for years.  He and Elle combine forces to find her but there is no easy going but rather all kinds of mysterious and scary attempts on their lives. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat as the twosome forge ahead to find clues and answers and Helena.

They are a good team and I really enjoyed them and how they interacted together and with the other characters.  This author writes a great suspense!

Season of My Enemy (Heroines of WWII) by Naomi Musch

So I loved this book and somehow I totally related to it.  My parents experienced WWII on the German side of the War, both the bad and yet some good and my mom told me lots of stories of the kindness of others as they struggled to survive. Something that this story shared as Fannie tries to understand the feelings of the Germans in this story.

This story was a very new viewpoint of the War for me.  As Fannie finds herself in charge of the family farm, and with brothers off to War and her father's death, she is faced with a struggle as to how to bring in the crops and feed those who need the crops.

As the German War prisoners come to work the farm, she is concerned about what is causing accidents.  Is it the Germans? And if so, which one?

It is a fascinating book and it is easy to read and enjoy.  It is written with clarity and it is interesting to see both sides of the story in a new and interesting setting and with a different dimension of the human situation of this time.

Will Fannie succeed in managing their large farm and all the difficulties that she experiences? I highly recommend this very interesting and engaging book.

His Amish Sweetheart by Jennifer Beckstrand (The Petersheim Brothers Book 3)

It's Austin's turn for his brothers to play match makers for him.  Yes, the twins are at it again and they definitely want to get their brother out of the house, even if they don't always agree on a match for Austin.  It's a cute story that will make you smile and laugh and just enjoy a sweet clean romance.

With two Amish eligible young woman interested in Austin, something exciting and fun is bound to happen.  I really enjoyed this story and the characters were engaging and fun to read about.  The author has a great sense of humor and that shows clearly in this lively story.

You are gonna love this one!

Potiphar's Wife By Mesu Andrews

This was a very powerful novel.  I am thrilled that my husband and I have been reading the Old Testament recently so I knew the story very well.  The author did a wonderful job of meshing real history and fictional content.  This is the second Biblical fiction that I have read from this author.  I have enjoyed both of these books very much.

This Bible story totally came to life as I read it and was very entertaining as Potiphar's wife, Zully, tries to seduce Joseph and he wants nothing to do with that.  There is so much historical information in this book, you know the amount of research that goes into a work such as this.  I found myself totally captivated by the entire book as each of the characters truly are amazingly well written and you feel as you are right there experiencing their stories with them.  I love that Zully tells her story in her words and with her own feelings and  thoughts.

This is a book I recommend.  It was very good!

The Sweet Life by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Marnie and her daughter Dawn both have bad news to share with one another.  Dawn's wedding is no more and Marnie experiences big health issues.  Both are hurting and they need one another.  They take Dawn's honeymoon trip to Cape Cod.  And there the adventure begins.

This was a very engaging story with the dilapidated ice cream shop and Marnie's dream of making her late husband's dreams come true. Marnie buys the shop without consulting with Dawn and there is so much to do before it can ever function as a shop.  And then there comes the town's historical commission, lead by a feisty and  cantankerous woman.  Everything that needs doing, has to be approved by her.

Dawn and Marnie don't see eye to eye on the way things should work, but will they be able to come to a common ground?

The book is clean, enjoyable and a very fun read.  The author did a wonderful job on this book.  But all her books are top-notch!I loved the cute quotes at the start of each chapter.  And there is a spiritual side to things as well.

I received an ebook copy from NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.

The View From Coral Cove by Amy Clipston

I have been a fan of this author for many years.  Maya's great aunt has passed away and she inherits her toy store.   Here in her new setting she adopts a kitty, meets a veterinarian, Brody and his daughter Ashlyn. As she goes through her aunt's belongings, she finds the secret withheld from her for her entire life.

The story is a sweet romance and the theme of overcoming some of our past life events, and moving on with life, love and happiness.  The location is a beautiful and cozy town along the coast with enjoyable characters.  The story was a good read and tells a sweet tale.

I received an ebook copy of this book from NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.

Murder Down The Line by Bruce Hammack (Smiley and McBlythe Mystery Series Book 9)

This author writes a really great mystery.  His books are always clean.  And that is what keeps me reading his mysteries!  The characters are great.  I love this series.  He always keeps me guessing as to how things will turn out. I love the interesting duo that gets together to solve the case. This book revolves about a cold case of 1942 and how it relates to Heather's current project.  I love solving mysteries, so this book was right up my alley!

Well, I will say you will enjoy this book.  Definitely captivating!

I received an ebook arc of this book without expectations of a positive review.  All thoughts are my own.
