Her Amish Adversary by Vannetta Chapman (Indiana Amish Market)

This was a very good book showing that not even the Amish are not without problems that cause their families issues which they have difficult struggles coping with.  It is a very well written book and a wonderful read that Amish book readers will really love.

I loved the conflict and tension between Bethany and Aaron, and the fresh and new storyline which kept me reading throughout.  You won't want to miss this one. I highly recommend it.

Letters of Trust (Friendship Letters) Book 1 by Wanda E. Brunstetter

This is a touching story with real-life problems that in this case also affect the Amish in a similar way as those who are not Amish.  Alcoholism is a problem to many and this was probably a difficult problem to write about.  The author did it in a good way and through letters to her friend, Eleanor is able to find emotional help and calming help from her friend.  As the problem increases she finds more help is needed but her husband is firmly against it.  This is a touching story and I felt that the support and compassion that she received were very important to her healing as well as her husband's struggles. I received a copy of this book through NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.

Christmas Actually By Anna Adams, Melinda Curtis, Anna J. Stewart

I loved these three sweet stories by different authors.  I enjoyed each one.  They each gave me a calm Christmas feeling as I read them. In the second story, I could understand how personal loss affects people as this year I have experienced that myself.

Jack, Callie and Nick were engaging characters and the stories are all in the same town and were sweet Christmas romances.

I received a copy of this book from an author.  All thoughts are my own.

Veil of Confusion (Kessler Effect Book 2) By Vannetta Chapman

This book starts off where the first book left off.  You will see characters both new and old.  The chaos in Texas is causing fright and unsafe life conditions to all of society.  Where is refuge and safety?  Harper Moore and Cade Dawson and their unborn child search for that refuge and find danger at every corner.  Who can be trusted?  Where should they go for refuge?  Or are there any safe places left?  The World is full of confusion and few answers.

This is a great addition to the previous dystopian volume of the same series.  It won't let you close the book until the end. Makes you wonder exactly how unlikely is such an event as what happened in this book???

And Then He Kissed Me by Melinda Curtis: (Summer Kisses Book 2)

 But did he pass the kissing test???  This is a really fun story of Aubrey and Nino.  And there's chocolate!  What could be better than that?  The story takes place in Ecuador and you learn a little about the customs of marriage there, as well.  This was a fun and quick read and I think you will enjoy it!

The Quilt That Knew by Patrick E. Craig

If you have read the Apple Creek Series by this author and even if you haven't, you will love this new book by Patrick E. Craig!  What a mystery!  It totally kept me wondering about "Who dun it".  And I kept trying to figure it out and my mind changed as I continued to read.  I just wasn't sure till the very end.  It was a really good mystery and so well written.  I could not stop reading until every last page was read.  This book brought back the mystery lover in me and add that with an Amish setting, I was hooked!  I was completely invested in this book.  I loved the characters that returned from the previous books and I loved that the Amish aren't perfect, and that they are human as are we all.

I received an ebook copy of this book from the author.  All thoughts are my own.

Mistletoe, Malice and Murder: A Clean Traditional Detective Mystery (Smiley and McBlythe Myster Series Book 9) By Bruce Hammack

This was another nice addition to this clean series of mysteries.  The author has a talent of weaving the details together to lead to a logical conclusion and its amazing how he plots out the story so well with well organized detail.  I enjoyed the plot of the two families involved and how Heather and Steve worked through all the  murder details and all the adventure and mysterious happenings.  I am sure you will enjoy this new addition to the series.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

On My Honor by Patty Smith Hall

I love the stories of faith that come through the Heroines of WWII series.  And this story continued the interesting and captivating books of the series.  This was a book about a group of Girl Scouts who discover a stranger on the beach who was basically washed ashore after a tanker attack.  Ginny, a sister of one of these Girl Scouts helps the girls but is worried that the mysterious stranger could be a real danger to them all.  The book is filled with intrigue and mystery.  Definitely the type of book I enjoy and I did!  The scouts did a great job as they worked towards helping the cause.  I highly recommend this book and the entire series.  I have really enjoyed them!

Cobalt Skies by Pegg Thomas (A More Perfect Union Book 2)

Cobalt Skies is the 2nd book in the A More Perfect Union series.  This book totally grabbed my attention from the very start.  It was filled with adventure and warm tender moments as well.  I loved the way strangers became the best of friends, and perhaps more.

This book takes you on a journey to the West as former Civil War Cavalryman, Samuel Hickman and the Southern  widow, Mrs. Susanna Piper head out for their personal goals, helping each other along the way.  They run into many difficult situations as they go at a time when North and South still harbored feelings.  This is a heartwarming book.  I really enjoyed everything about it. This book is a page turner!

A Mississippi Sunset: Women of Courage by Linda Weaver Clarke (Audible Version)

I really enjoyed this sweet and clean historical fiction and romance. It's part of a series of brave women who were not afraid to take a stand in what they believe needed to be changed and you will see some historical figures that appear in this book!  Loved that.  I enjoyed that the Willow Valley people return such as the owner of the hot chocolate shop and others familiar from an earlier book.  The characters are good people trying to make the best of the situations that they are in. However, it is not necessary to have read the previous books in order to be aware of what is happening in this, the third book.  It's a great stand alone story. The narrator was Elizabeth Schmidt, who I believe is a new narrator for the author's Audible books.  I enjoyed her expression and her story-telling abilities.  She was easy to listen to.

This is a very enjoyable book and it was fun to listen to.  I received a complimentary Audible copy of this book form the author and was not required to post a review.  All thoughts are my own.

An Amish Christmas Inheritance by Virginia Wise

 This was a fun book for me and I really enjoyed it.  I grabbed it at Walmart the other day and so glad I did!.  I loved how the characters grew and developed through the trials and what appeared to be a real obstacle to venture through.  It's fun reading and I was happy that I took the time to read it.  It's a sweet and happy Christmas story.  It's a feel good kind of book!

Coming Home by Shelley Shepard Gray

This is a story of lost love and finding it again, years later.  The separation  after high school's end, left them with hurt feelings and choices that were not the best.  Chelsea finds herself as a single mother, who loves her son and wants to make the right decisions for both herself and for him.  When she reconnects with Anderson Kelly, they both realize there were mistakes made and aren't sure if the feelings they separated with could ever heal.

This is a sweet story and the characters were both caring and thoughtful of the situation they find themselves in.  The book will make you feel good and there are other characters that play an important role in the lives of the main characters.  The story was realistic and I kept reading to see how it played out.  A good book, one that you will truly enjoy.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author through NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

Anna's Tower by Pegg Thomas (Christian Historical Romance Novellas)

I have always had a real interest in light houses wherever I travel I keep my eyes open to find them, so this story drew me in right away.  I also love all things historical  and so this book fit the bill for me.

It was engaging to see and read about Anna's desire to help those in need through the occupational hazards of the sea-going shipmen.  I enjoyed this novella very much.  It's a sweet romance and the characters are interesting and unique.

I am sure that you will also enjoy this story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.  All thoughts are my own.

The Christmas Story & Other Beloved Stories of Jesus Guest Post by Linda Weaver Clarke

The Christmas Season - a Time to Rejoice!

Christmas is a wonderful time of year. A feeling of love and joy are in the air as we give gifts to family members and neighbors.

The Christmas season is a time to have compassion for others and to give from our hearts. If we find out that a family is in need, our hearts go out to them. We don’t want their children to be disappointed on Christmas Day so we’ll take gifts to them to put under their tree. That day will always stay etched in your mind, and your children will never forget the grateful faces of the family.

Some people give gifts in secret, by knocking at the door and hiding behind a bush. When we did this, my children saw the surprised neighbor calling his children to the door to see what was at their doorstep. My children remember those days with fond memories.

As we buy gifts for the family and listen to I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas and Jolly Old St. Nicholas, do we think about the real reason we celebrate Christmas? Do our children understand who Jesus Christ is? How about our teenagers? Do they comprehend what He did for them? This is the perfect time to help them understand why we celebrate Christmas. But what is the best way to explain who Jesus is and why He is so important on Christmas Day?

There are many children’s books about the stories of Jesus. Each one has cartoon-like drawings for young children and told in a simple way for them to understand. But how about our older children who can read and would much rather read something that fits their age? Is there something for them to read?

Thirteen years ago that very thought inspired me to write such a book for my grandchildren in narrative style so they could get to know Jesus. This style of writing brings the stories to life so they can understand the scriptures better. After much

thought, I realized it was time to share this book with others. These inspirational stories are for all ages to read… from eight years old to ninety-eight. The font is larger for easier reading, especially for children, teenagers, and grandparents.

In “The Christmas Story and Other beloved Stories of Jesus,” you will learn about the birth of Jesus, the angel who told the shepherds about His birth, and the star that led wise men miles upon miles away to visit the Christ child. How about the miracles that Jesus performed? From the healing of the sick to feeding the five thousand with five barley loaves and two small fishes… from calming the wind and the waves to walking on water. These stories help our children to realize that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.

This book also includes inspirational paintings by Del Parson, the renowned artist. His paintings give us a feeling of reverence and peace. The colors are exquisite and the style of painting helps tell the stories of Jesus. You can actually feel the love that Jesus has for us as you gaze at each of the lovely paintings. To learn more about Del Parson and his inspirational paintings, visit http://www.delparson.com.

Have you noticed that more and more people are talking about Jesus and His ministry? There are movies on the Internet telling the stories of Jesus like The Chosen by Dallas Jenkins and a Christian website called Bible Videos: The Life of Jesus Christ.

After reading The Christmas Story and Other beloved Stories of Jesus, Sunnie Reviews wrote: “A beautiful book written in an easy to understand style for adults and young people alike. The words and the artwork are amazing. The art is from a renowned artist. This is a great gift idea for younger readers to help them realize the important events that are well explained in this book.”

Below is a sample to read:

Off in the distance, a group of shepherds were tending their sheep when they heard choirs of angels singing. At first, they were startled and confused, not sure what to think of it.

An angel stood before them and said, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”

With that announcement, the angels sang: “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

After the angels left, one of the shepherds said, “Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.”

With haste, they traveled to the city of Bethlehem. It did not take long to arrive at the stable because the shepherds felt God directing them where to go and they soon found the babe lying in a manger just as the angel had announced.

With humble hearts, they knelt in reverence before the newborn babe. The happiness they felt was indescribable. They were grateful that God had sent the angels to them with a message about the Messiah. Why had they been so privileged to know about his birth? With great joy, the shepherds went about, making it known to everyone about the spiritual experience they had seen that night.

Wyoming Christmas Reunion by Melinda Curtis

This was a really sweet story.  The characters really were easy to relate to, to understand their feelings, despite their past divorce. Despite a painful divorce, Helen knows she has never stopped loving Nash.    It was great to see how they worked to get over their previous problems and both felt the desire to become a family working together to help save the family's ranch.

I loved the way this book worked out.  It was a book that brings the Holiday spirit home.  It was a wonderful last book for this series. And a clean romance.

Christmas at the Sleigh Café by Melinda Curtis

This story actually connected to me quite well, as my daughter was a dancer as well.  So it touched me a lot as I saw the common paths of decisions that some dancers have to make.

As Allie takes a job waitressing at the Sleigh Café an old friendship seems to have new sparks. This is just the sweetest Christmas Story as the two, Allie and Nick find a renewed interest in one another.  As they help their family with some problems that have arisen, the warmth of Christmas Mountain and the holiday spirit warms all their hearts.

The mysterious Christmas Cards with inspiring messages was a cute highlight in the story.  One that gives me some personal thoughts of a sweet Christmas plan of my own.  The characters were easy to like and this is definitely a great Christmas story to add to the Holiday Season.

Her Favorite Wyoming Sheriff by Cari Lynn Webb (The Blackwells of Eagle Springs)

Getting arrested seems to be an issue for Adele Blackwell and this 4th book in the Wyoming Blackwell series is a hit with me.  There are characters from earlier books to become familiar with and although it's a great read on its own, you should read the first three to appreciate all the characters and the parts they play.

Grady and Adele are both in the process of overcoming events from the past and they were not planning on love to be in the near future.  But the romance was an enjoyable read and it was an engaging story.  The twins were cute as was the entire book.  Loved it!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and was under no obligation to post a positive review.  All thoughts are my own.

Passages of Hope by Terri J. Haynes (Doors to the Past Series)

 This is the type of book I have loved since a little girl who just started to read.  It's a book with mystery, history, and absolutely beautifully written.  It's a book that I enjoyed from the start to the finish.  The characters were wonderful and the historical parts were informative as well as interesting.  If you want a captivating book, this was it for me!  It's a book of courage and love for others.  I can't say more, it was so enjoyable to me.

I don't always care for dual timelines, but this was well done and not confusing as to which time period I was reading at the time. I loved the inter-generational connections in the storyline.  There was a trust in God there that is so heartwarming,  This is a definite recommendation!  Loved it!

Veil of Anarchy by Vannetta Chapman (Kessler Effect Book 1)

Wow, this was quite the book!  The events are so believable and definitely will make you think of possibilities of an unknown future.  It was very dramatic and suspenseful.

How do you prepare for something you can not explain or did not ever expect?  A small town of Alpine, Texas finds itself in a situation that closes off transportation, communication, and just about everything they depend on from day to day. The question is how to deal with all the needs and who can be trusted.

This was a great book.  And I am sure there is more yet to come!

This is an enjoyable western historical taking place around the time of automobiles just coming into play.  Mary leaves home to escape her overbearing brother.  As she arrives at her aunt and uncle's place, she finds out things won't be easy as they have passed away and their property is facing the auction block.  And someone wants her "gone".  As she faces lots of obstacles to inheriting the property that was willed to her by her aunt and uncle, she has to work hard to find a way to prove her identity and stay safe!  As the attempts on her life continue she finds a friend in Hugh Hutton.

It is a very good book and I highly recommend it and know that the author has written many excellent books that I have enjoyed in the past.

A Daughter's Courage by Misty M. Beller (Brides of Laurent Book 3)

 This is a great adventure reading experience.  I really enjoy this author's books and the characters that she develops.  As Charlotte heads to a fort two days away, she runs into lots of unexpected trials.  As well as a man she doesn't know whether to trust or not. Yet, she has little choice as a serious snowstorm causes them to find shelter.

It's a very enthralling book that will keep you reading till the end.  The characters are such that you really enjoy reading about them. This entire series has been one that I feel so lucky to have read.  I love the hidden village in the caves and the people that find refuge there. I love how Charlotte and Damien are not perfect, but good people who have their individual struggles.  I really liked the book and look forward to the author's future works.

An Amish Christmas at the Apple Blossom Inn by Debra Torres and Tracy Fredrychowski (An Amish Christmas Novel)

I so enjoyed this book!  It was good from the first page till the last page!  I loved the way the characters all interacted and I loved Jubel!  He seemed like the perfect guy.  The storyline was full of activity and there were no drawn-out parts.  It was an enjoyable page turner book!  I loved the family togetherness, despite their loss of parents. And I loved how they worked together after a bad incident at the inn. Two sisters share their tale and authors, Tracy and Debra just can't stop now!  They are on a roll!

I have read books from both of these talented authors.  But to put their heads together on one book could be both a blessing and a challenge.  I loved how they combined their talents and came up with an absolutely delightful book.

I highly recommend this book which I received as a complimentary ARC copy.  All thoughts are my own.

Unlikely Season by Jennifer Spredemann (Unlikely Amish Christmas Book 3)

I loved this book!  Actually I love all of the author's books and this was no exception.  After a shunning of his parents, James is able to again be with his family.  Having himself left home to help with a construction mission for another church, his father is not willing to understand and even fired James' friend from his construction job.  It is a beautiful tale of love, family and overcoming through Jesus.

Veil of Mystery by Vannetta Chapman (A Kessler Effect Prequel)

This is a prequel to Vannetta Chapmans book Veil of Anarchy.  It will grab you instantly!  It is a dystopian  prequel that is going to make you think!  As they prepare for whatever is coming their way, you can see that there is some real trouble, perhaps total collapse of life as we know it!  Ok, I am leaving it at that, because the prequel is a true cliffhanger.

The Secrets of Emberwild by Stephenia H. McGee

 A nice historical mystery that will keep you reading!  If you enjoy books about horses, this will interest you and hold your attention.  It is the first book I have read from this author.  I will be reading more!

Nora is working hard to keep things going for her horse farm.  As Silas comes to train her colt, he has another goal as well.  He is doing all he can to solve his father's death. And yes, there is romance.  I can recommend this book to you and am sure you will enjoy it as much as I have.

 Just in time for the holidays!  This book is sure to put you in the Spirit of the Season! Seven great authors, and seven great stories.  These stories connect and form a wonderful holiday experience.  The stories were all sweet with touching scenes to set the perfect holiday experience.

The authors are all talented writers and their stories all are about Christmas Town.  I love each authors addition and how well the stories blend. I have to mention I couldn't help but love the story with a Polish grandmother's special recipe.  I am Polish-German and Polish grandma's know how to cook and bake!  All the stories are great and will transport you to a Christmas frame of mind!

Anything but Plain by Suzanne Woods Fisher

 An engaging Amish fiction! Having a somewhat similar situation in my life, this book was great at depicting the ADHD life.  I loved everything about the book.  And I understood.  And it felt real. And it gave me new perspectives as to how to deal with the circumstances that arise. It was good to read and a beautiful telling.  Lydie definitely had her challenges and keeping a job was a big part of them.  The book was a great example of faith and I just plain enjoyed it!

Mary by Shannon McNear (Daughters of the Lost Colony)

This was certainly an amazing book. I couldn't help but keep reading and reading.  The research that must have gone into this book would be quite difficult due to the early years in which it took place.  There were many new words that I had to learn as I read the book with many checks to the glossary in the back.

The customs and the beliefs of the people were fascinating to read about. I really enjoy reading about history and especially the early history of our country.  As Muschaniq hears of the One True God, how will she relate to this?  Having read book 1, I was happy to see Elinor in this book.  I love to see this type of continuity. This book is a reminder of how the early beginnings of our country were filled with danger as well as faith and trust in God.  This is a fascinating book and well worth reading!

An Amish Christmas Star (Blog Tour and Giveaway!) by Shelley Shepard Gray, Charlotte Hubbard and Rosalind Lauer

An Amish Christmas Star

by Charlotte Hubbard

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE: Inspirational Romance (Amish)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 BLURB:

The crisp fragrance of pine trees and the warm spice of fresh cookies aren’t the only blessings that Christmas brings, and no one knows more about happy homecomings than three couples who are celebrating the greatest gift of all . . .

STAR OF WONDER by Charlotte Hubbard

When Raymond Overholt comes to Promise Lodge, hoping to sell the barnboard signs he’s painted with stars and Christmas messages, spirited young Mennonite Lizzie Zehr is intrigued. But any courtship between them will face fierce opposition from the bishop of Raymond’s Old Order community—unless someone can convince him that at the heart of faith lies love . . .

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 EXCERPT:
With the girl’s laughter still dancing in his head, Raymond Overholt tried to refocus his thoughts. If he didn’t convince Mr. Kraybill to sell his handmade plaques, his past several weeks of work would be for nothing. He’d have to return home to Coldstream with his tail between his legs, and face a long, dreary lifetime of milking his dat’s cows. Running a dairy was honest, necessary work but Raymond didn’t enjoy spending his early mornings and late afternoons in a smelly barn disinfecting udders any more than the Holsteins liked having him around. Worse yet, if he overslept, his older brothers did the milking and left the hosing down and mucking out of the stalls for him.
“If your customers like these plaques, I can make more,” he assured the steely-haired storekeeper. “I—I really appreciate having the chance to sell them here in your new store. Our bulk market in Coldstream is dim and overcrowded with merchandise, and even if the owner there had display space, he wants nothing to do with artwork. It’s that Old Order thing.”
Mr. Kraybill smiled knowingly. “Jah, Amish stores don’t usually carry much that appears English even if they have a lot of customers come in from outside their community to shop,” he acknowledged. “But your plaques carry a solid Christmas message—‘Wise men still follow His star’ and the lyrics to ‘We Three Kings’ are meaningful reminders about following our Lord’s holy light. Thanksgiving always kicks off the Christmas buying season, so we’ll give it a shot, Raymond.”
He hoped his grateful grin didn’t appear too adolescent—or desperate. Raymond gazed around the store, where a gal in a pleated Amish kapp was stocking shelves in the rear. A few early shoppers were pushing carts into the grocery section. “If you need some extra hands when things get busy these next few weeks, I’d be happy to help, sir,” he offered. “I’ve not worked in a store, but I’m gut at tallying sums and I’m a quick learner.”
“I’ll keep it in mind,” Kraybill said with a nod.
Raymond heard probably not in the storekeeper’s words, but he’d dealt with people’s dismissals before. If he’d dressed in dark broadfall pants with a plain shirt and suspenders—and if he’d chosen glasses with conservative frames—Kraybill might’ve taken him more seriously. But until he had no other choice than to submit to Old Order ways and join the church, Raymond was determined to wear clothing he liked.
“I’ll be back in a few days to see how my signs are selling,” he said. “Denki for giving me a chance.”
 My Review:
Well, I just really enjoyed this sweet romance.  It was so enjoyable to watch the characters change and grow in the their own respective ways.  Becca had a goal to travel and needed to train a replacement for her job at the Amish Market.  Gideon's father sent him from Texas to Indiana to fill Becca's shoes.  He is missing Texas and his smaller community of Beeville.  As the story continues, the love story starts to bloom. Going from friends to falling in love in a sweet way was fun to see.
It was interesting to read about her plans to join the Mennonite Disaster Services and to find out about what they do to help others.  I love Amish Markets and shops so it was a fun read.
I received a copy of this book from the author and was not required to give a positive review.  All thoughts are my own.
Dog Days of Summer (Gone to the Dogs Mysteries Book 2) by Kathleen Y'Barbo
Trina is a Nashville Country Singer who purchases a Texas ranch in the hopes of helping with a dog rescue facility.  And before this even gets going trouble comes.  And so the mystery begins!  The book is read in first person, Trina.
Her friend from school days, Wyatt, tries to help her solve the mystery that keeps you guessing till the end.  If you read book 1, you will love seeing the familiar characters that were in that book as they appear in book 2. And there are newbies in the book, as well. This book blended in well to where book 1 ended. The book has mystery and some romance!  What could be better! I really enjoyed this cozy mystery and look forward to book 3!
Wyoming Rodeo Rescue by Carol Ross
 I love this Blackwell Series!  This was the third book and it was so sweet!  The author did a great job of developing the "cast of characters!"  Summer is an equestrian rider who appears early to the "rodeo" and finds herself in the midst of preparations and she digs right in, although she was not expected and yet she will take over as the main event of the rodeo!  Levi and Summer seem to not hit is off at first meeting.  She appears to early for him and she doesn't seem to appreciate his reactions to her being there.  But the story continues and you will just love how it turns out.  Levi's daughter and Summer seem to hit it off wonderfully from day one and they instantly click.  There is some "strife" as ex-wife appears and she and Levi can't seem to agree on what is best for their daughter.  But the story continues and you will just love how it turns out.  This book is a winner.  I couldn't put it down. Can't wait for the next in the series.  It just keeps getting better!
Wanda E. Brunstetter's Amish Friends No Waste Cookbook
I have loved Wanda's Recipe books and this one had some very nice and simple recipes.  I have gone down one person in my household and this gives nice casseroles that could be used a couple of nights for my now small household.  The Cheeseburger Bacon Pasta sounded like a winner to me!  As did the Pizza Casserole!  Can't wait to try them.  I need to a way to use the leftovers that I always seem to have in the fridge and somehow often end up just throwing away. And this book seems to fit the bill perfectly. The dessert items looked so nummy!  I can't wait to start baking and cooking these wonderful looking foods.  The artwork was great and everything looks wonderful.
The Amish Matchmaker by Amy Lillard (Paradise Valley Book 2)
This was such a cute story!  I just loved it.  The characters were all so engaging.  And it was a book that once you started, you kept right on reading.  It was such a fun book.  The book took right off from the beginning to end.  No dull moments as Astrid becomes the matchmaker for Imogene, a widow with twin boys who needs a husband and father to help her.  Astrid is a romance writer and is surprised at Imogene's request to help her find her match. But she's right on the job!
I loved the storyline, love, friendships and a few laughs along the way.  It was a really enjoyable tale and I loved the humor when confusion hits! I loved the characters of the twin boys, Mattie and Mahlon who helped to add humor and a little chaos to the story.  All in all, this book is a sure winner for all who love Amish fiction.  Can't wait for book 3!
A Lady of Refinement by Linda Weaver Clarke (Audible Version)
Another sweet and clean and definitely enjoyable book by Linda Weaver Clarke.  I love the cover and have to admit, the look of a cover really influences my first thoughts of a book. The narrator was a talented speaker as she told the sweet story.
I love how the author weaves her ancestors' stories into her fiction.  What a wonderful way to preserve your ancestors' stories while writing an engaging and interesting story.  I loved the way the character of Jonathon grew throughout the story and how he learned to impress the woman he was hoping to court. I loved how Serenity was not as "refined" as her Welsh auntie had hoped for her to be.
It's a great story and I am so happy to have read it.  I enjoyed it so much!
I received an Audible copy from the author without being required to give a positive review..  All thoughts are my own.
An Amish Proposal for Christmas By Vannetta Chapman (Book 1 of 2 Indiana Amish Market)
Well, I just really enjoyed this sweet romance.  It was so enjoyable to watch the characters change and grow in the their own respective ways.  Becca had a goal to travel and needed to train a replacement for her job at the Amish Market.  Gideon's father sent him from Texas to Indiana to fill Becca's shoes.  He is missing Texas and his smaller community of Beeville.  As the story continues, the love story starts to bloom. Going from friends to falling in love in a sweet way was fun to see.
It was interesting to read about her plans to join the Mennonite Disaster Services and to find out about what they do to help others.  I love Amish Markets and shops so it was a fun read.
I received a copy of this book from the author and was not required to give a positive review.  All thoughts are my own.
An Amish Christmas Star by Shelley Shepard Gray, Charlotte Hubbard, Rosalind Lauer
An excellent set of three Christmas novellas written by three excellent Amish authors.  I really enjoyed them all, despite the fact, Christmas is still a few months away! These stories will definitely set the mood for happy holidays.
Each story was different from the others and it is hard to see the stories end.  These would all be great characters for their own novel.
The first story is about two Amish people needing to get to certain destinations and their various rides give them definite problems along the way.  As they travel together, despite many setbacks, they find their way.
The next story was about Raymond and Lizzie whose relationship is hindered by a Bishop whose own personal feelings cause problems for his congregation, including Raymond and Lizzie, of course.
The final story is about a newlywed couple whose life is disrupted by a job which keeps them apart from one another.
These are all great stories and so enjoyable to read.  loved them all!
Anna's Amish Fears Revealed by Tracy Fredrychowski Book 3
I loved getting to read book 3 of this series.  The Amish women of Lawrence County series always seems to have a good Christian theme and this one has as well.
Anna is living in a world of anxieties and after her faith is stretched to the limit, family and friends hopefully will give her the support she needs.  After Simon leaves just before their wedding, how will she be able to trust again? After he returns, will she be able to have a life with him?  With God's help the decisions will become clear.
I really enjoyed this book, as I have the previous books in the series.  I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author with no requirements of a positive review.  All thoughts are my own,
Calm in the Mountain Storm by Misty M. Beller (Call of the Rockies Series) Book 9
 This book grabbed my attention from page 1.  I am a real fan of this amazing author.  She writes the most amazing historical books.  I knew that I would need to read this book, too!  So glad I did.  This is an author who understands the history for the time period she writes.
The book is a wonderful addition to this series.  There is always adventure, and of course, romance in her books.  This one did not fail in these categories. I love the missionaries and the trust in God.
There is sadness in the book and it is very touching.  If you like these features in a book, I highly recommend it.  Any of this author's books, actually.  You won't want to miss a single book!.
A Cowboy Thanksgiving by Melinda Curtis
What a fun addition to this series.  I loved to get to know these characters as they were so amazing in their own ways.  Bo Monroe feels a bit inadequate as far as "Monroes" go.  But wants to show that he too, can shine.  He assumes "Max" is a male and is surprised to learn at the airport, it is "really" Maxine who he is picking up to have Thanksgiving with the family.
This is a great finish to the series and a beautiful story in and of itself.  As the relationship between Bo and Max begins to grow, you find yourself reading a wonderful and endearing love story.  And lets not forget Luna, Max's daughter, who also is an amazing character and addition to a great book!  You will enjoy it so much.
The Bride of Blackfriars Lane by Michelle Griep
 This book was such fun to read!  There were lots of features that I enjoyed about it, such as mystery, as I am a big fan!!!  And there was romance, of course.  There was crime and it has a hero!  There are some twists, some turns and the unexpected, making is such a good read.
This author has always entertained me with her enthralling books.  This book was a book I can truly recommend.  Don't miss this one!
Escape From Amsterdam by Lauralee Bliss
 This is a book that I was so lucky to read!  I loved it.  It is a wonderful addition to the Heroines Series.  Helen and Erik meet and their attraction begins.  It is the time of German occupation and their lives engaged me completely.  They were brave and do all they can to help the children to be safe from the Nazis.  This is not without trials, but God is present.  Their faith is evident as they help the Jewish children.
An excellent book and one that is very close to my own heart.
A Wyoming Secret Proposal by Amy Vastine (The Blackwells of Eagles Springs Book 2)
So I am a huge fan of the Blackwell Series.  I think I have read each book and I have loved them all.  This addition did not disappoint and I was totally engaged with this book.  After a crazy night in Vegas, Harper finds herself married to a Blackwell.  Being a social media gal, she finds herself in a position that she had not expected and tries to make the best of her situation. An annulment is out of the question.
Wyatt is a cowboy who moves between different ranches but returns to the Blackwell Ranch.  His unexpected bride arrives in Eagle Springs and the story goes from there!  There is fun and great characters to get to know.  And of course, it was equally enjoyable to see characters from the previous book bringing the characters into an enjoyable family circle.
I enjoyed this book very much and even a special touching few paragraphs for me.  My husband loved fly fishing at Flaming Gorge and the Green River.  It brought back sweet memories for me.
I received a complimentary copy of this from the author. I was not required to write a positive review.  All thoughts are my own.
A Path to Forgiveness by Carrie Lighte and Vannetta Chapman
This book is a compilation of 2 previously released books.  The books are well written and enjoyable reading. In Carrie Lighte's book, Arleta is certain that marriage is not in the future for her.  She has a secret that will cause no one to want her, she is certain. The story is also about Noah and he too, has a troubled heart due to what he feels he should have done differently preventing serious and tragic consequences.  Both need to find a way forward.
I could hardly wait to read this book by Vannetta Chapman.  It was really good.  I enjoyed how two hurting people were able to help each other both physically and emotionally.
It also is a good example of the care and love of people who are in need.  It's about family caring for one another and help from God as well as trust in Him.
I recommend this book!  It was so good!
