An Amish Schoolroom by Amy Clipston, Kathleen Fuller, Shelley Shepard Gray

These stories were wonderful!  I love all three of these authors and what a great combination they make.

The stories were each different and about different Amish teachers who find love.  It's fun to see the ins and outs of the Amish school and how it differs with school as we know it.  The stories were interesting, enjoyable and sweet romances.  I really enjoyed them all and highly recommend to the Amish book fan.

The book is very engaging and you don't want to put the book down.  I hope these three wonderful authors will continue to collaborate because they make for some great reading!

I received an ebook copy from NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.

The Cryptographer's Dilemma , Heroines of WWII Book 1 by Johnnie Alexander

This is the second story that I have read from this author.  I love the strong female character and her courage in taking an FBI job. She's a code reader and works to figure out a code that leads to excitement and suspense. And perhaps a little romance!

I really enjoyed the author's writing style and how the book kept me turning pages.  I really enjoy a good WWII story!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.

Requilted With Love by Carrie Fancett Pagels

This is a sweet novella by Carrie Fancett Pagels.  It is a historic view of life in 1889 Michigan.  Sarah is hoping to win a blue ribbon at the state fair and there are lots of other quilts that will be in the competition.  She requilted a wedding quilt when that marriage to her fiance was not to be.

It is a very enjoyable book.  I love the time period when it seems life was much simpler and yet still full of excitement and challenges and new things to explore.  I am sure you will enjoy reading this story.

The Walnut Creek Wish (Creektown Discoveries Book 1) By Wanda E. Brunstetter

This was an enjoyable start to a new series by Wanda Brunstetter.  A young couple, unable to have children finds their marriage pulling apart at the seams.  A move from the city to an Amish town brings about change in their lives that doesn't come easily but as they grow together they find things that are missing in their lives.  The story revolves in a non-Amish couple who become acquainted with an Amish couple who see the needs in others, when they themselves do not.

Not feeling a need or desire to listen to God and rely on His help, the couple continues to struggle through life's ups and downs.  It's a sweet story of growing and becoming.

The Waves of Romance: A Collection of Sweet Beach Romances by Cindy M. Amos, Joi Copeland, Bonita Y. McCoy, Patti Jo Moore and Marilyn Turk

This is an enjoyable summer read with five novellas from five different authors in a very nice collection.  Each story was different and I liked all the contemporary style romances.  Being as there are 5 novellas, there is lots of reading here and the compilation was of a longer length, which was very nice.

I wasn't familiar with all the authors, so I liked seeing the different writing styles.  I really enjoyed Marilyn Turk's story as Courtney searches to find her way through a rough patch and finds a childhood friend who might be just what she needs, or maybe not?

If you want an enjoyable read for the summer, this book is a great choice.

I received an ebook from an author.  All thoughts are my own.

An Amish Surprise (Berlin Bookmobile Series, Book 2) by Shelley Shepard Gray

This sweet Amish story was a poignant one which I feel will certainly touch your heart.  I did not have the chance yet to read book 1, so I can say that it is a good stand-alone.

The story line was one that was realistic and contemporary.  I could feel Miles' pain as he is told his foster parents could no longer have him stay.  Feeling rejected and alone, Miles wonders what he could have done to let him stay and why no one has ever wanted to adopt him.

His friend, Calvin, has come to be very fond of Miles and Miles hopes that Calvin's home will be his next home, but it is not Miriam's plan and Calvin wants to keep the peace in his still childless family.  Lots of feelings and emotions that surround this Amish family.

I really enjoyed this book and will plan on reading book 1!  The characters were endearing and the story was heartwarming.

An Unexpected Amish Courtship by Rachel J. Good (Surprised by Love Book 2)

This is the second book of this series.  I loved the Amish shops in the stories and how things revolve on their work and socialization there.

The main character, Sovilla finds herself being sent away by her mother to an aunt she didn't even know existed.  This particular aunt is a struggle to live with and quite hard on Sovilla.  They are several different story lines that all tie together as the book continues.

There are family secrets, family difficulties, drama  and misunderstandings.  There is romance and always the love and dependence on God to get through all of it.

I enjoyed this book very much.  There were characters to love and those that were very unlovable.  The book was well written, and I look forward to the third book in the series.

I received an ebook copy from the author and NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.

The Nature of Small Birds By Susie Finkbeiner

This was an interesting book about a family that adopts a girl in the Babylift program for Vietnam.  In this time-slip book, you will find three time periods, 1975, 1988 and 2013.  It takes place in the time period I remember all too well in my life, so I can relate to the events that took place and the "way we lived" in those years.

I didn't immediately realize that the three time periods would be told by a different person, but caught on quickly as the book, written in first person, changed first persons.  At first I was a bit confused by that.  I was especially interested in seeing whether she is able to find her birth mother, as this is something that I have done for several people in my life.

There is family drama, and events that happened to many people of these time frames. I felt that the book would continue and we would see where certain parts of the book led.  Maybe a second book in the future?  I enjoyed the book very much.

I received this book through NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.
