The Blizzard Bride by Susanne Dietze The Daughters of the Mayflower Series

Another wonderful book to add to this great series. Abigail comes to Nevada to teach school and to help find a dangerous counterfeiter.  Her former love interest who left her without a word, also appears in the same town.  He doesn't want Abigail to be hurt by this counterfeiter/murderer.  He plans to protect her.  But she is not happy that he left without a word and wants to be involved with her again.

The story is wonderful and I loved it.  The characters are likeable and I kind of wished that Abby had not hardened her heart so much but that added to the story and she learns and grows and works towards changing.

A really touching story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

Lessons on Love by Susanne Dietze, Rita Gerlach, Kathleen L. Maher, and Carrie Fancett Pagels

This was such a good book.  It's 440 pages so I thought it would take some time for me to read, but the stories were so engaging that I couldn't put it down.  It was really a great read.  There are four stories written by some very talented authors.

The four stories cover four different time periods, 1840, 1870, 1894, and 1904.  So you get a little different perspective of those years in the different stories about school teachers and their responsibilities and rules, etc.

Having been an immigrant myself, the story of the Swede's  called "Love in any Language" really hit home as I remember learning the English language and then trying to help my mom to understand, which took much longer.  It is a challenge.

I loved "In Desperate Straits", the title being a cute play on words, and how Maggie dresses as a man to work the job that is a job that would otherwise go to one of her brothers.  Such a great story by a very talented writer.

The book was so nice to read.  I can only say I am glad not to have been a teacher back in the day.  The rules!

I received an ARC copy from one of the authors.  All thoughts are my own.

First Love Forever Romance Collection by Susanne Dietze, Cynthia Hickey, Marcia Gruver, Carrie Fancett Pages, Martha Rogers, Lorna Seilstad, Connie Stevens, Jennifer Uhlarik

Here's a collection of very sweet love stories about "first loves".  There is always something special about first loves, something you never forget about.  These stories are interesting and uplifting.

The authors are well-known and blend well into a 9 part collection that make for a very enjoyable read.  They are historical in nature and range from 1861-1910.

Each story is a story of rekindled love of the past.  I love the idea of the book and the contents of it.  I enjoyed reading each one!

I received a copy of this book from one of the authors.  All thoughts are my own.

My Heart Belongs in Ruby City, Idaho by Susanne Dietze

Beautiful cover!  This is the first book that I have read of this author.  I so enjoyed this book.  It was so fun to read about this mail order marriage and how things don't always go as we have planned!

The book is a really enjoyable read.  I had a hard time putting it down.  I will definitely watch for books from this engaging author again.  Their is excitement, romance and I think a little humor in some ways as things start off on the wrong foot.

It's a great clean Christian read, the kind of book I like to recommend to my friends.  Can't wait to read more of her books!

I received an e-book copy from Barbour Publishing for my honest review, which I have given.  All thoughts are my own.

Seven Brides for Seven Mail-Order Husbands Romance Collection by Various Authors

When the lady mayor of Turtle Springs, Kansas sets out to help the female population of her community all kinds of things happen.  What's the plan?  It's to have auditions for husbands for the single or widowed women in her town.  As the War between the States has taken the lives of many of the men of Turtle Springs, an advertisement goes out and brings in many candidates and possible choices for the many women left in town.

I liked these seven stories which all were woven together as one to show the events in the lives of the people of Turtles Springs.  Each story seems to build into the other.  These were all sweet romances during the historical time period of the mid 1800's when life was a bit more rugged.

The stories, although with a common thread, were each different and unique which keeps your interest going throughout the book. I enjoyed the Christian themes throughout and was glad that I had an opportunity to read this delightful series of novellas.

Disclosure;  I received a complimentary e-book copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review which I have given.  All thoughts are my own.
