Rebel Light by Marilyn Turk Coastal Lights Legacy Book 1

This is a great Civil War period read.  I really enjoyed it from page 1 till the end.  It was a very interesting read with some unexpected turns in the story, which I really liked.  The book is during a time of great stress in our country and deals well with the events of these times and is heartwarming and a Christian read.  The characters you either loved or absolutely didn't and the descriptions of the times and places were well done without being overdone.  

It was a very enjoyable book and I can't wait to read the next book!

Ths MissAdventure Brides Collection by Mary Davis, Cynthia Hickey, Kathleen E. Kovach, Debby Lee, Donna Schlachter, Marjorie Vawter and Kimberly Woodhouse

I loved these stories, every single one!  They were so sweet, some very funny as well.  Loved their  "Miss"adventures which made the book's title very appropriate.  Each of the stories was unique and different.

There were some new authors for me and that I found quite refreshing to read a new writing style.

Very good compilation of stories and a great way to spend my reading time!

The Great Lakes Lighthouse Brides Collection by Various Authors

I have always been drawn to lighthouses.  There is something very romantic just because of the light they share.  When I saw this title and some of my favorite authors participating, I couldn't resist.  I had to read this book.

I learned a lot about what goes on in the lighthouse, and came to the awareness of what an important role they played. 

There were seven wonderful stories here, unique and captivating.  I loved this book.  It's a beautiful collection.  So glad that I was able to read this well-written compilation.

Jenny's Dream by Linda Weaver Clarke

I have really enjoyed Audible books.  I can listen while working, while traveling and while relaxing.  This series by Linda Weaver Clarke is a wonderful historical set of books that I have enjoyed so much.  

The narrator Carolyn Kashner has an easy going and relaxing way of speaking with lots of voice changes as the book characters speak.

This was book 3 of the 5 part historical fiction Bear Lake Family series.  It is always nice to read one of Linda Weaver Clarke's books which are always entertaining, factual and clean reads.  

This, as the title indicates is the story about Jenny, daughter of Gilbert and Melinda, the couple that blended their lives and family together.A wonderful story that takes you back in time and let's you visualize what life was like as people forged their lives in an untamed land.

As Jenny's dream of her future began to come true, she discovered that sometimes dreams can change with time. And sometimes surprise you.

It was a great read and I recommend it along with the previous 2 books in the series.  It has adventure, romance and historical elements which make a great combination.  I know others will enjoy this story as much as I have.

Seven Brides for Seven Texans by Multiple Authors

Seven brothers on the 7 Heart Ranch are given the ultimatum to get married within the year or lose their inheritance.  I loved these stories, easy and enjoyable to read, all seven of them.  Some of my favorite historical authors wrote these and they are all sweet, Christian reads.  And there's lots of reading to keep you busy for quite a while.  I highly recommend this excellent collection.  I am so pleased that I had the opportunity to read these. 

And I couldn't pick a favorite, I loved 'em all!

The Blue Ribbon Brides Collection

I always enjoy historical books and this compilation of 9 great stories by 9 great authors does not disappoint.  If you like thinking back to your younger days attending state or county fairs you will enjoy this set of stories.  Nine people entering the fair in hopes of winning the blue ribbon and ending up with quite a bit more.

These stories were sweet and refreshing.  I was really happy to have had the chance to read this book.  I enjoyed each of the stories very much.

Edith and the Mysterious Stranger by Linda Weaver Clarke

Another sweet romance by Linda Weaver Clarke and book 2 to her Bear Lake Family Saga does not disappoint.  I have been enjoying this series and happy that I was given a chance to read these books.

Edith is an educated woman who is very particular about men.  She doesn't wait to get to know the inner man if the first or second encounter with this person are not what she expects.  Knowing this, her secret admirer decides that he would like her to get to know him before she has the chance to reject him.  As he finds his own way to court her, she finds herself enthralled with this mysterious man who has not revealed his identity to her.  Will he have better success than the others who have attempted to court this interesting woman?  You will need to read this one for yourself and I am sure that you will enjoy it.

The Love is Patient Romance Collection: The Spinster's Beau by Jill Stengl

I just started reading the first novella in this 9 part collection of historical novellas by some really amazing authors.  I decided I would review each one right after I read it so that it is still all fresh in my mind.

This book started out in a rather exciting way as Jane is called out to help the local doctor with what she supposed was a childbirth but turns out to be a rather different call than she would have ever expected.  Doing her best to help with her case brings along some surprising feelings and as Jane receives a marriage proposal from an unexpected suitor, she must choose to patiently wait to see what her future holds or accept the sure thing which promises a secure future.

I enjoyed the story very much.  It is the first I have read from this author and I hope that I will have the opportunity to read more from her.  Really loved the story.  I kind of wish it would continue to see what Jane's future looks like!
