Journey to Respect by Lyn Cote
This is book 3 of the series entitled Patriots and Seekers by Lyn Cote. It can certainly be read as a stand-alone book, so no worries if you haven't read the series.
I loved this book! I love historical and I loved the social aspects of this book and how it came together for good. The story has great ethical and social lessons and lots of great historical information.
There were no slow moving parts in this book. It was a page turner and I had a difficult time to close it and get some sleep!
Lyn Cote is an excellent author and I have enjoyed many of her writings and will continue to do so.
I received an ebook copy of this book from the author with no expectations of a review. All thoughts are my own.

Two Seasons of Romance by Lyn Cote
This book by Lyn Cote includes four short story clean romances set in two seasons, winter and summer. The stories are sweet and a quick read. I enjoyed the uplifting stories about trust and friendship and a little faith and self esteem. All good qualities to read about and leave you feeling happy.
I have read other books from this author and always enjoy them.
I was given an ebook version from the author for my honest review, which I have given. All thoughts are my own.

Her Captain's Heart by Lyn Cote
Yankee schoolmarm, Quaker Verity Hardy is a widow who takes on the big challenge of building, opening and teaching a school for black children not long after the Civil War. The school is sponsored and paid for by the Freedman organization
She heads South with her father-in-law and daughter Beth to face unexpected and extremely hard trials in her goals. But Verity is not one to give up under any circumstances even when it means starting completely from square one.
Her name Verity means to believe in a true principle and in the case of this story it would be the principle of equality for all which was Verity's goal and purpose. Working together with ex-captain in the Union Army, Matt Ritter has it's challenges and joys.
When plans go awry, Verity forges ahead and never gives up, a truly strong and honorable woman.
This was another wonderful read written by Lyn Cote. I really enjoy her books and I will keep reading her wonderful books. I loved this book!

Honor by Lyn Cote
I loved this book! It was so good. Out of necessity, Honor finds herself marrying deaf Samuel Cathwell, who is an artisan glass maker. He is actually drawn to her as well, as out of necessity, yet he is not at all comfortable showing his feelings with her, due to his deafness. His deafness was caused from a childhood fever. Her necessity, due to her grandfather disinheriting her because of her strong feelings about slavery and abolition. She is determined to free slaves, including those of her grandfather.
She and Samuel, his nephew Eli, and her maid, Royale, make a move west to start a new life. The trials, adventures and events of their lives together begin to shape their lives into a way that Honor never expected to experience.
The dramatic historical events make you feel as though you too, are experiencing the feelings that Honor is feeling as well as being totally enthralled in this wonderful book. Highly recommend this! It's a 5+++ Lyn is an amazing author. I will be watching for her books!

Heartland Courtship by Lyn Cote
This book released in February of this year. I found it at Wal-Mart and being a historical kind of person, I really wanted to read it. I am so glad I did. This book is about a Quaker woman, Rachel Woolsey who stakes a homestead claim in Pepin, Wisconsin. She nurses back to health a former soldier of the Civil War, Brennan Merriday, who in return helps her to proof her claim.
She earns her living by baking and selling her goods to the passengers of the boats that stop in her town. She finds herself attracted to this man only to find out that he hasn't told her some things of his past which at first disturb her. Brennan's plan is to help her with her claim and then hit the road, again but his plans get sidetracked when an unknown boy enters his life.
I really enjoyed this book and it was a really good read. I liked Lyn Cote's style of writing as it was quite different from some of the recent books that I have read. I hope to read many more of her books!
