This book was so interesting! It mixed the Amish genre with a very contemporary theme. This is a continuation of the storyline of Lincoln's work of rehabilitating ex-cons to be able to handle life on the outside. It had romance, danger, mystery and suspense and wonderful characters that you can't help but love. I have to admit, I found myself wondering how I would react to find myself as the interest of a man who had been incarcerated. How would I deal with the trust issue, etc.! Joy is a very conscientious divorcee and a mother of a teenage whose life is full of events, dance lessons, and her work as a tutor for those who can't read. As these two meet their story begins.

The Orchard by Beverly Lewis
This book takes us back to the Vietnam time period. I enjoyed the book, but have to admit that it took a while for the book to grab my attention. It seemed a bit slow starting for me. It wasn't my favorite Beverly Lewis book. But once I got into the book, it moved a bit faster and became more interesting to me.
The book deals with the struggles of the conscientious objectors to the war and those left behind them and dealing with the thoughts of not seeing their family members again. The romance was sweet.

Murder on the Brazos by Bruce Hammack ( a Fen Maguire Mystery)
Love a good mystery and this was one. This was book one of a two book series. Fen makes a great hero. He's a former sheriff whose county has been suddenly taken over by crime since his retirement. Now the county has lost its clean status. Fen investigates and his wise and experienced mind sets forth to bring back peace to the area.
Its a good read and is a non-violent book. I enjoyed the clean book and look forward to the next one. Very good characters and well-written. I am sure mystery lovers with all find this a great book.

The Dark Reckoning by Sarah Hamaker (The Cold War Legacy book 3)
I haven't read books 1 and 2, but didn't feel lost in anyway, so it is a book that stands on its own, as well. I really enjoyed the intensity, the human feelings, happy, sad, fearful, the full gamut. This was a well-written book and I recommend it! I am sure you will enjoy it.

Cold Light of Day (Missing in Alaska Book 1) by Elizabeth Goddard
This book starts right up on the first page. The mystery and suspense keep this police chief, Autumn on her toes, throughout the book. So many events that keep you wondering throughout. It is a hard book to put down. And there is some romance there as well. Grier, a newcomer to town, has a knack of being in the right place at the right time. And it is unclear if he is one of the good guys or not??? Is he holding something back? There is a lot of criminal activity going on, but why and who is behind all of it?
I love the Alaska setting, a place my husband always talked about but I have never been to. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

Critical Threat (Extreme Measures Book 3) by Lynette Eason
I was surprised to notice that this was the first book that I have read from this author. It won't be my last. It was full of suspense, some romance and a lot of mystery. This book is a gripping story that you won't want to miss especially for suspense-mystery lovers. A serial killer is following the MO of Sam's father, an incarcerated serial killer. He is hampered in life by his father's violent acts and past crimes. Finding a meaningful relationship is difficult at best, fearing that anyone will assume he is his father's son. Sam is a prison psychiatrist as well, and teams up with Grace, a forensic analyst, in trying to figure out the mind of the criminal. The book has lots of adventure as time runs out to prevent yet another victim.

Her Heart's Desire by Shelley Shepard Gray (A Season in Pinecraft Book 1)
What wasn't to enjoy about this wonderful book? I loved the Pinecraft vacation theme and the story of 4 friends sharing and caring for each other. The book talks of forgiveness, trusting that God is leading us in the direction we should follow and making important life decisions.
The storyline tells of second chances and accepting change. I really enjoyed the book and hope to read the next book in the series. The book is about coming to be your true self and moving beyond past mistakes.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the Publisher. All thoughts are my own.

Family Gatherings at Promise Lodge by Charlotte Hubbard
I loved the humor that I found in this book as poor Lester is chased by two lonely ladies who are competing against one another to win his heart. Elverta and Agnes were so very determined and would never consider giving up on poor Lester.
