My Heart Belongs in the Blue Ridge Laurel's Dream by Pepper Basham

This is another in the My Heart Belongs series.  It was also the first time that I have read a book by this author.  I really enjoyed it.  I especially liked how the mountain culture shown through including the language that they would use and their beliefs and lifestyle.  It's a hard life in the Appalachians and Laurel wants things to change.

The new teacher in the mountains tells of life and things outside of this place and receives harsh responses to his teaching ways.

I think this was a really good book and I think people will love it as much as I did.

I received an ebook copy of this book from NetGalley.  All thoughts are my own.

My Heart Belongs in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania Clarissa's Conflict by Murray Pura

I have been following the "My Heart Belongs" series from it's onset.  I doubt that I have missed any of the books, so far.  I hope that I am able to read them all.

This one grabbed me right away from page 1.  It takes place during the Civil War period.  Clarissa is a strong fiery character with red hair to go along with that personality.  She is a member of the Underground Railroad, actively helping the slaves.  She's pretty amazing.

You can tell that the author was well versed historically and this made the book more interesting to me as I love history.  Kind of goes hand in hand with my occupation of genealogist!

The book flowed and read well.  Enjoyed it and it keeps me wanting to read more of this heartwarming series!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

My Heart Belongs in Galveston, Texas by Kathleen Y'Barbo

I think I have read each of the books that has come out in this series so far.  Loving them all.  This is one by an author whose books always keep me reading.  This one did that.  I really enjoyed the mystery involved.  Also a little danger to keep you on your toes.  Good book!

My Heart Belongs in Glenwood Springs, Colorado Millie's Resolve by Rebecca Jepson

I have loved every one of these books.  And I have read quite a few so far!  This might have been one of my favorite in the series.  Loved the story and it was very enjoyable to read.

After losing the love of her life, she finds herself working as a nurse for his mother.  The job is not an easy one and hard to deal with seeing her lost love.

She is a very wonderful and giving person and this story really brought that out.

I loved it!

My Heart Belongs in San Francisco, California by Janice Thompson

I was so happy to be able to read this addition to the "My Heart Belongs" Series.  It was a sweet story, Abby and Sam's story and I really enjoyed reading it.  If the rest of the series is this good, I for sure will be reading all of them!  That's a lot of reading.

I enjoyed the characters and the discoveries that socialite Abby made bringing many unexpected changes in her life.

San Francisco in the growing years seems to have not been quite the same as we know it now, so it was nice to see the contrasts and the growing pains, so to speak.

My Heart Belongs in Niagara Falls, New York Adele's Story by Amanda Barratt

This is a sweet story of two individuals, both trying to do all they can to preserve and help their individual family situations. Both having experienced hard times, they set out to improve as they think best.  There are some very breathtaking events.  But I will let you discover this!

This book is part of a 50 state series of books, this one taking place in New York.  Although part of a historical series, each book seems to be an individual book with it's own story.

The book is very enjoyable and I would recommend it highly. A beautiful scenario written around the amazing Falls and the events there keep you reading till the end.  It's a story of family, love and faith.

I was given an E-book copy from NetGalley for my review.  All thoughts are my own.

My Heart Belongs in Castle Gate, Utah by Angie Dicken

I was really excited to read this book, being a Utahn and so was thrilled to have a chance to review it.

Being as it was a historical about Utah, of course, my first thought would be that it would be about Mormons as a theme, but was surprised that is was about the early Greek population.  I learned a few things I didn't know.  And yes there was a Greek Town in Salt Lake City, as I pass by it every day on the way to and from work.  What I didn't realize was that they were prejudiced against in that time period.  I have Greek friends and that never even crossed my mind.

This book was really interesting to this Utahn because it was fun to learn things about my state that I didn't know.  I enjoyed it a lot and the challenges that this group of people faced taught me some very sobering facts.

This is a new author to me and I am sure I will be looking for other books she has written. Very good job!
