Risking It All With The Paramedic by Janice Lynn (Medical Romance)

I was not previously aware that Harlequin had  medical romances.  So this was my first introduction to this genre.  I wasn't sure if the medical part would be for me, but I did find it rather captivating.  This is also a new author for me and so lots of new things for me to read.  I enjoyed the story as Ivy and Caleb are on the same plane to Normandy for veterans.  As medical incidents occur, the events bring them together and sparks are kindled.  But when they are back to life at home they assume that this was not going to work out.  This is a nice introduction to both the genre and the author for me.  I am happy I was able to read this!

Murder on the Colorado by Bruce Hammack ( A Fen Maguire Mystery Book 6)

This book is an instant attention grabber from page one.  This has been a very engaging series.  The author has a great way of writing mysteries that makes it a very captivating read and without the gruesome details.  I have really enjoyed each book in the series and I think you will too.  It is really a great page turner. I received an arc copy of this book.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Christmas Gathering by Shelley Shepard Gray, Lenora Worth, Rachel J. Good

This book contains three separate stories of  Amish holiday time.  They are sweet stories and each is different than the others.  I enjoyed each of the stories.  The stories were all good and I think my favorite was The Christmas Reunion.  In some ways reminded me of family holiday get-togethers and there is often a "stray" person as a guest.  In this case it was a non-Amish young man and how he related to the family members.  The second story was about a long-standing family feud of two Amish families.  It's interesting how it continues through time until...a new romance blossoms between the feuding families.  The last story was about "Rebel Amish" and the problems that occurred as a group of young Amish youth start a band, which is not abiding by the Amish rules.  I enjoyed all the stories and they were fun holiday reads.

I received an ARC of this book from one of the authors.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

An Amish Christmas Table : Four Amish Christmas Sweet Romance Stories Tracy Fredrychowski et.al.

This book consists of four novellas revolving around Christmas.  These are perfect for the upcoming Christmas season and really for any time of year. I read Tracy Fredychowski's novella entitled Love beneath the pine.  Loved this story as it reminded me of being a caretaker, and yet still remembering to care for yourself, physically, spiritually and other ways, as well and to allow others to help you. Sometimes we are so involved as caretakers we forget we can't always do things alone. The antique table that Isaac restores, is a beautiful part of the book as it tells the story of times and people in the past. It's beautiful and a sweet story.

Every Little Kiss (A Kissing Test Novel) By Melinda Curtis

Don't we all want a prince?  Maggie has quite a hurdle of going to her sister's wedding to her ex-fiance. Her sister Violet arranges for Maggie to bring a blind date to the wedding who is said to be a prince! And of course, Grandma Dotty is in the center of all the wedding activities.  And there is a bit of mystery and intrigue and lots of excitement in this story.  There are no dull moments.  It's a lively and very fun book to read! This is a clean and fun romantic comedy.  A very nice and enjoyable read!  Loved it!

Winning the Mountain Man's Love (Brothers of Sapphire Ranch Book 5) By Misty M. Beller

This story is a really nice read and the author really can create a great frontier setting. Since my granddaughter will be going to Montana in less than a month, I loved reading about the open beauty of this state.

The story of Patsy (Patience) is an interesting one as she works the gambling tables to survive.  She needs to earn money to reach a higher goal in her life... until the unexpected happens and she finds herself being transported to her orphaned niece.  As is the frontier life, there is always danger ahead.  This book is full of adventure and description of this location and time frame.  I highly recommend it!

Virginia (Daughters of the Lost Colony 1602) by Shannon McNear

This story of Virginia is a fictional version of what might have happened to Virginia (Ginny) after her capture by another tribe.  It is a fascinating story that kept me reading every page, just as the previous books of this series. Ginny was the first English child born in the colony.  The not knowing of what happened to the colony is fascinating to think about.  I kept wondering whether they all were killed or moved to another location.  The book has a lot of historical information which I know I would not have known about, had I not read this book.  The research which went into this writing is amazing.

I loved this Christian historical  fiction story.  The characters seemed real and the storyline was well written. There were very difficult parts very likely similar to things that could certainly have actually happened.
